Slide and Swing doors on extension - any experiences with New Wave/Decenuninck/Panoramic?

On our extension, we are planning on having 3-4m of glazing on the south facing wall to overlook the garden. We have UPVC french doors on the same wall in the existing building and have a running battle to try to get them to close because the sun makes them warp.

We've looked at, and discounted bifold doors. However, we have come across the Magnaline product being used in Slide and Swing (or Slide and Stack) doors from New Wave Doors, Deceuninck, Panoramic doors, and other suppliers - although at this point, I'm not sure if it's the same product just licensed to different suppliers.

Does anybody have any experience of these Slide and Swing doors, and particularly on a south facing wall (did the UPVC ones warp)?

I had a quote from panoramic and was considering going with them until they wanted 50% of the cost upfront and 40% prior to manufacturing. Leaving 10% for the fitters on completion. Thanks, no thanks!

All my posts have been deleted because panoramic doors and new generation have blocked them. I have just been honest with facts about these companies. Good luck to anyone wanting to do business with them.

alih44 yes the doors are fab. They came back and remedied all my issues with no fuss.

We went with Panoramic Doors and I'm very pleased with them now, but, there were problems with the installation (they weren't measured or made correctly and Panoramic Doors surveyed the site) and there were a number of telephone calls to have the problems resolved. This was achieved within a week but it was a major pain at the time.

We were replacing existing doors and I'm very pleased that we hadn't arranged our own removal of the doors prior to them coming to install.

Is thread still active?
I have had issues with New Wave Store / New Wave Doors / Legacy Windows - all the same company, head office in Bristol.

I had them installed in 2017 - which was quite possibly the most stressful experience of my life. The installation was wrong, I had to pay another £1,200 to have them re-installed due to their error. Their customer service is the worst I have come across in my life. I can't bear to think about how awful they are.

Alas, now my doors are broken a year later so I have to try and contact them to get the problem fixed. They have so far ignored 5 emails and 5 voicemails. I have left a 1 star review on Trust Pilot..... funnily enough they have managed to respond to that within a few hours! (Their response was just to confirm my order number - nothing else).

Please avoid at all costs. I am now considering my legal options as so far they have cost me thousands in extra costs, my doors no longer work at less than a year old, and the head office are ignoring me.

THE WORST I have ever had the misfortune to deal with
Just like many others have stated this company is THE WORST I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. They wont answer telephone calls, emails, or letters - I ended up travelling to Bristol just to try to arrange for my delivery and fitting. The whole setup is a COMPLETE SHAMBLES with no person taking responsibility for any aspect. Yes they are great to you, and actually call you before you pay any money, but oh boy once you've done that you cant get a response no matter how you try to contact them. The fitting was atrocious as was the fitter, Keith from the Canterbury area, who just gave me a load of baloney every time I spoke to him and when on the occasions he did turn up it was always extremley late in the day which meant he was fitting in the dark to a new extension that had no lights at the time, and he always made excuses that he had to get off so would arrange yet another date to come back, which ultimately ended up the same! After months of trying to resolve the issues I payed a local independent company to come and finish the fitting and to repair the damage caused by Keith. This of course makes my 10 year warranty totally useless. Considering what I paid for this product I am appalled at the way in which they treat their customers. I wouldnt even give them one star and believe any good reviews they've had are put on themselves!!!!!!!

Confused having read the views on Slide & Turn doors.
I have to order soon for my extension. Any suggestions!
I live in Harrow. May be someone nearby has had such installation.

@csthaker we have had a look at SunSeeker doors and although we’ve not got them installed (or ordered yet) we’re going to go with them. Their showroom (not that you can call it that, it’s where they make the doors) is only in Luton. I’d recommend making an appointment and going to view them.
I put a post up a week or so ago asking for reviews of SunSeekers and had two positive reviews.

I too have been researching bi-folds preferring the 40% more expensive slide and tilt bi-folds, paying by credit card for the deposit and want to delay the full amount until we install and fully test. The manuals are online and seems straightforward. That way we can adjust as needed as due to the temperature fluctuations, length, sun orientation, etc. The only thing is that fewer people seem to stock the magnaline system and Deceuninck and others seem to discontinue the product. Have to question the reason why the other suppliers that conventionally used to sell sliding doors haven't adopted slide and tilt ánd adopted reselling hinge bifold profiles. I would love them to respond with advantages and disadvantages, including the magnaline people with verifiable references of people who have had them for 5 years or so. I also need to make a decison in a few weeks.
