Ours is magnolia at the moment, the same as most of the house. We really need to decorate but can I decide what colour? Can I heck! I'm veering towards soft grey or greenish tones but I'm open to suggestions.

I have Elephants Breath above the dado and Charleston Grey below.
Looks smart but a little bit more purple than I would like but cant face changing it.
WIll add some colour with pics/lamps etc.

Porcelain Doll which is a light soft grey. We have Just Walnut in another room, which is slightly darker and is really lovely.

We have a very narrow double height hallway with expansive huge walls, and went for Farrow & Ball Down Pipe (v dark charcoal grey - navy in some lights) with pure white washed wooden stairs. I love dark gloomy rooms Grin

"Gardinia" basically a paler magnolia.

These are brilliant suggestions thank you! I've just been through and had a look at loads of them, the just walnut one is my favourite so far I think. Do you all go for Matt though? We have the dirty marks issue as well. Bloody kids and their sticky fingers

We have matt.

Mum2KSS · 28/07/2016 09:43

gardenia silk with white woodwork looks very light and spacious

We use tough/durable matt finishes. Look for the one which says it is scrubbable - that should allow you to clean off fingermarks without removing the paint.
