What colour is your hall/stairs/landing?

Ours is magnolia at the moment, the same as most of the house. We really need to decorate but can I decide what colour? Can I heck! I'm veering towards soft grey or greenish tones but I'm open to suggestions.

Yes it isn't cheap but I consoled myself with the fact it's cheaper than some!. We did our hall stairs and landing and covered over wall paper. We did two coats of white underneath and just one coat of the Little Greene paint. It was £60 ish for 5 litres I think and I've got some left for touch ups so didn't think it was that bad... we've got quite a big hall, stairs and landing.

Stockholm white. Oak floors and staircase. Simple and bright but not harsh.

This is the colour planned for my currently white h/s/l. I am so excited.

Some long forgotten putty/cream/grey type colour.
With F&B Cromwell (discontinued) in a large alcove and on the ceiling above the little staircase to 2nd floor. I think this only works on very high ceilings.
Like this (picture pinched from pintrest).

Ivory creme here, all walls, throughout the house.

Floors pale wood downstairs, and creme berber carpet upstairs. Skirting and architraves still slightly darker wood, but due to be replaced with the pale when the installer has space for us in his busy schedule. Big fluffy rug under marble coffee table and also under dining table.

Its all about texture for me.

Dulux Natural Hessian. It has served us well, but after many years I'm now looking for ideas for a change.

We have Dulux Timeless in our kitchen and bathroom, and despite having had it for c10 years, I'm planning to simply repeat it - it's very easy to live with.

We have been colour matching F&B paint colours in Leyland Trade elsewhere in the house, and very pleased with the results so far. Not all perfect matches, but pretty close (and the scrubbable tough matt finish is a must in our house).

Just had ours painted. It was a soft grey - painted by last owners, but too dark and gloomy looking. I wanted a lighter, brighter feeling - cream but not yellow and not magnolia either. We used Dulux's orchid white and it looks lovely now. As though someone has switched the light on!

RingUpRingRingDown · 27/07/2016 09:59

Dulux Timeless.

I don't love it tbh - looks like white that is tired and needs repainting.

imreallyamermaid · 27/07/2016 10:08

Dulux chic shadow, it's a pale grey and I love it Smile

ThisIslandGirl · 27/07/2016 10:10

Ours is navy blue! Little Greene's Deep Space to be exact. I love it.

We have a 1930's semi with quite a spacious and light hallway so it looks really nice.

I actually only did it to piss off mil as she was trying to interfere with how I was decorating my house and was horrified when I said I wanted dark red in the living room and said I needed 'light, airy colours'. The look on her face when I said I was doing the hallway navy was priceless Grin

wowfudge · 27/07/2016 10:10

We are replacing emerald green (not our choice) with Egyptian Cotton. It looks more creamy brown than grey on our walls.

Only1scoop · 27/07/2016 10:11

Dulux Just Walnut

Don't be put off by name

It's the softest grey and everyone comments how nice it looks

Tisy10 · 27/07/2016 10:12

White. It used to be a mushroom colour but was so dark!! The white really opens up the space.

P1nkP0ppy · 27/07/2016 10:14

White walls and ceiling, silver grey carpet, it was magnolia with a beige carpet.
Woodwork is white too and I'm thrilled with how clean and bright it is.

Lesley1980 · 27/07/2016 10:15

Ours is crown Spotlight which is a soft grey/lilac depending on time of day. It's nice but terrible for marking & won't wipe clean without taking the paint off.
I'd definitely recommend getting your colour made up in a washable/endurance paint.

Lesley1980 · 27/07/2016 10:16

Really nice colour. I have it in my kitchen.

SpringSpringSpring · 27/07/2016 10:16

Dulux timeless - it's boring but the hallway doesn't have much natural light (just the window above the door) and I can't think what colour would work with dark wood floors

pestov · 27/07/2016 10:32

It was mocha when we moved in and it sucked the life out of the house, no windows so always gloomy. Repainted in a pale banana yellow and its glorious! Makes me smile every day.

FakeTwinkle · 27/07/2016 12:09

in our current place its a pale green (think the paint was called apple mist?)
but in the house we are rennovating we are going for natural hessian, and then a nice photo or pic on the landing to add some colour.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 27/07/2016 12:12

Mine is Filing Cabinet by Fired Earth

Sunnyshine · 27/07/2016 12:16

Do none of you have children that drag there hand down the walls!?!! I love creams but I think I need something darker so marks from hands can't be seen Shock

Sooverthis · 27/07/2016 13:25

I've always had cream or light walls most paint is writeable and children can generally looking at you dnephew be taught not be drag on walls

attsca · 27/07/2016 16:26

Pale greyish duck egg walls that I mixed myself, white doors, creamy white floorboards and a light beige rug. It looks like holidays.

minipie · 27/07/2016 16:29

White, with white woodwork

Painted before we had DC

Now white with lots of marks and speckles (sigh)

Nice and light though
