Any budget at all, which house would you buy?

Just that really. I'm trying to cheer myself up by looking for the house I will buy when I win the lottery tonight Grin.

I love a bit of property porn on a cold, damp January evening.

Any budget, any location. What would you go for?

So far, I'm quite liking this with a modest win. I'm still searching for a real splurge one...

any budget, any location

I would be tempted by this, is it too much?

This now appears to be used as a holiday let but it was for sale (and took ages to sell) a few years ago. I pass it regularly and I just love how it looks from the outside. It has the most amazing view over the Strait too. Not overly keen on some of the decor but if we're spending fantasy money from a fantasy lottery win then you don't have to keep that do you :o

heartlog · 05/01/2016 22:04

I can see myself being very comfortable here

Devora · 05/01/2016 22:53

Hmm, a bit pokey heartlog.

Devora · 05/01/2016 22:55

Wow, Naoko, those views are stunning. I would LOVE to live there (after a redec, of course).

Devora · 05/01/2016 22:55

I also like how it doesn't appear to all have been knocked through. I like separate rooms!

Devora · 05/01/2016 23:04

Mothership, that Hampstead villa is absolutely to die for. I feel I deserve it.

One of the most beautiful houses I have ever stayed in is this, in the days when it was a private house: www.luxuryretreats.com/north-america/caribbean/barbados/fustic-village/fustic-house-105036

wowfudge · 05/01/2016 23:48

Fight you for it Devora. True property porn and an amazing house.

MothershipG · 06/01/2016 08:42

Sorry Devora, already put an offer in, do you think they'll accept £500,000? Wink

And I'm going to save up for the Barbados one, do you have very rich friends?

Devora · 06/01/2016 10:16

I have one very rich friend, Mothership. Should have picked very rich parents (or even moderately wealthy would be nice) - in the next lifetime I'll try to get that right.

JasperDamerel · 06/01/2016 12:37

That Hampstead one is stunning.

The York houses are lovely. I know the current owners of the Mount parade one. Gorgeous house.
I love how York is so diverse, huge grand properties and then rows and rows of tiny terraces and working mans houses. The downside to York for me is the In-Laws live there. Blush so further down the road to Harrogate for me.

this one has its own lift

bookbook · 06/01/2016 15:12

now you are talking - thats a lovely house in Harrogate.( I guess you would be rich enough to keep it warm ? all those open staircases!)
I could happily live in this one , though I would have to do a bit of decorating.

mrsmortis · 06/01/2016 15:35

I'd turn this one back into a family home: www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-26934009.html

WoodleyPixie · 06/01/2016 16:20

I like the Beverley one as well. I dreamed huge big house and enough room and land to never feel cramped but in reality I think I'd be happy with a house that size. Big but still small enough to clean it myself.

JumpJockey · 06/01/2016 17:12

I've decided this one will do - grand but still feels homely. Also has its own woods... and check out the immensely long downstairs hall for sliding about in socks!

IssyStark · 06/01/2016 17:39

Any one of these houses. I think there are seven of them in total, none on the market at the moment so only got the old listings. The top one is the less knocked about with.

Original feature intact and floorplan

least mucked about with since the 70s by the looks of it!

living room/study knocked through and dressing room/ensuite knocked through - I'd reinstate as original

Devora · 06/01/2016 17:40

mrsmortis - I love that, especially the dragon ceiling! But I think my favourite has to be JumpJockey's - that house has the most lovely bones. It's just beautiful.
