It is fugly (I feel sorry for it!) but intriguing and makes a change ... Also, the EA pictures are unspeakably bad. And yet the house has a certain something Wink

It's nasty and strange. And "Spurgeon Road": I know we can't all live on Honeysuckle Lane, but God, some road names are so unappealing.

BubsandMoo · 25/11/2015 23:01

That house has No Soul. And I completely agree it seems set up for a brothel... I was thinking sex party house for sure.

Pippioddstocking · 25/11/2015 23:03

I like it .

May09Bump · 25/11/2015 23:10

Not that I have been in one - but it looks like a swingers house to me. The room in page 20 has massive mirrors and sunken bank, along with bar etc.

Its is quirky and need decor sorting.

Lweji · 25/11/2015 23:42

Did we spot Pampa's grass there? Off to check.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 26/11/2015 00:01

Lweji you read my mind and beat me to it!

Devora · 26/11/2015 01:29

I know that road - it's really quite nice and I can't imagine what all the grilles are about. I quite like some parts of the house, but way too many spotlights and too much beige for me.

The one in Kentish Town is truly hideous, though.

Postchildrenpregranny · 26/11/2015 01:35

The security grilles would worry me .I though Upper Norwood was OK? And theres a lot of corridor/hallway
The outside wouldnt bother me but I've lived in a nondescript box for 27 years (its nice inside!)

Redglitter · 26/11/2015 01:47

I really like it Confused

PerspicaciaTick · 26/11/2015 02:05

I rather like the OP's house. But the one in Kentish Town is revolting.

this is fugly

It's not ugly. It's just in need of soft furnishing and love . I like it.

Out2pasture · 26/11/2015 03:07

both those homes with the low slope roof are typical of the 70's. both need updating but have potential. more a matter of the price of the house and the price of the update....is it worth it?? the bars on all the windows indicated a much more serious problem :(

kickassangel · 26/11/2015 03:22

I like the first one. You would need to put in globe-like white chairs, have a white fluffy cat and invite Austin Powers round, but I do like it. Apart from the grills.

Mintyy · 26/11/2015 09:23

Perhaps the bars on the windows indicate some other sort of criminal activity going on there? Wink.

I absolutely love 60s houses - they are in such short supply in London though.

Cressandra · 26/11/2015 10:06

i quite like the first one. It's too beige, but at least it makes a change. Bars on the windows, spa and reception - yup, definitely something dodgy there.

You'd need to work with it, bond villain armchairs and 70s leather corner sofas. It would be a car crash with tasteful grey walls and stripey stairs, or whatever the latest thing is now.

DeirdreDoo · 26/11/2015 10:31

It's completely grim. Yuk.

lalalonglegs · 26/11/2015 11:47

It could have been great but it's been done up on the cheap by someone who has sourced all their finishes from Travis Perkins. A real missed opportunity. I know that area slightly and it seems a bit toppy in terms of price.

Devora · 26/11/2015 11:48

Upper Norwood IS ok, which means either the owners are strange/paranoid or they have some heavy neighbours. Or they're drug dealers.

The Essex house is hideously decorated but lots of potential - that hallway is fantastic!

sugar21 · 26/11/2015 11:55

Would you mind not linking to my house

DeirdreDoo · 26/11/2015 12:05

Oh which one is yours?

I hope it isn't the Kentish Town one.

Devora · 26/11/2015 12:10
Shock

Tell us you're joking, sugar.

Why is the loo seat up in one photo, down in the next?! Has the photographer been for a poo halfway through?!

Devora · 26/11/2015 12:21
