Just seen this for sale today.

Was a bit surprised at the price, but then saw the photo and the floorplan! Ideal if you don't like standing up or moving around much!

And how on earth do you get in and out of bed - you could jump but would probably hit your head on the ceiling Sad

I lived in a tiny caravan when I was much younger and it was nowhere as claustrophobic as this

I would sooner live in that than pay some scummy buy to let landlord for a free ride at the expense of young people ever being able to have a roof they own. Disclaimer I hate what has happened to what should be a basic right, a roof over your head . Yes I blame both the government and greed

Unless you live in a mansion you cant escape from buy to let moving in on a street and ruining it with trashy litter throwing foul low life scum tenants .
Yeah I know not all tenant s are like that , but trust me a lot are

roneik · 09/09/2014 21:47

Mumbles exterminate exterminate , or build some more houses and end this bloody ridiculous situation that may very well contribute in bringing down our economy. We are all subsidizing a ponzi scheme to enrich a load of greedy struckders and fat bankers

roneik · 09/09/2014 21:52

Rant over wipes brow and swears loudly , shouts at dog and kicks telly every time our dave comes on with his bloody annoying face contortions and thickwit eton up your anus IQ

TortoiseshellSpecs · 09/09/2014 21:54

Madness. Plus, surely that's a bedsit, not a 1 bed flat?

Pooka · 09/09/2014 21:54

That surely can't pass fire regulations? Only means of escape from "bedroom" is past the kitchen, and being top floor, not like you could just hop out the window!

Mrsladybirdface · 09/09/2014 21:56

this actually the worst one of these I've ever seen... this cannot sell

mumblechum1 · 09/09/2014 21:57

I've owned bigger shoeboxes

Shakey1500 · 09/09/2014 21:59

roneik are you suggesting that buy to let landlords are responsible for (some) scummy tenants??

YakInAMac · 09/09/2014 21:59

I am surprised that is legal. I didn't think you could have a toilet opening onto a kitchen.

Oh, but it's all right, there's no toilet.

Mrsladybirdface · 09/09/2014 22:01

I love how it says viewing recommended!

QueenOfThorns · 09/09/2014 22:06

Surely there must be a toilet, it's just not on the plan? It can't be a separate residence without its own toilet, right?

roneik · 09/09/2014 22:07

Shaky yes I am , they as a herd lived mainly on council estates and those that aspired to a better life quality bought to get away from them . They sold council houses and now some poor sod has to have antisocial kruds living next door.

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 09/09/2014 22:09

I love how it gives info on local schools, as if a family might consider this?!

Hobbes8 · 09/09/2014 22:10

At least it is "only" £45k. Did you see that one in islington? £275k and the damp was visible in the estate agents picture, and you had to climb on the kitchen cabinet to get into bed.

Shakey1500 · 09/09/2014 22:10

Sounds like you've had some bitter experiences. Hardly fair to generalise though Hmm

roneik · 09/09/2014 22:16

I feel if the Scots vote yes our economy wont be able to support subbing buy to let through housing benefit at present cost. It all looks wobbly and it does not surprise me the government has just ordered 3'5 billion worth of armored vehicles all equipped with the state of art tech to probably contain the aftermath of a banking or economical nudge back to sanity

roneik · 09/09/2014 22:43

"Cough" I will get my coat now

EagleRay · 09/09/2014 22:59

I have quite a good memory and though it seemed a bit familiar (although hard to forget a flat that's so horribly proportioned).

It was on the market 3 years ago for £15k more - here it is. That bedroom looked really spacious before someone cluttered it up with all their stuff...

I saw this yesterday and was gob smacked, it is in good location for town though. I would have thought you could use this as a week base and go home at the weekend.

Floundering · 10/09/2014 12:02

Bloody hell it is a shoebox. BUT Reading is ideal for many Uni students & first job-bers so if they can get a toe on the house market ladder, it's worth it.

But I'd only consider it as a crash pad, &/or as said before as a Mon-Fri base, you could hardly have your mates round could you?!!

Unexpected · 10/09/2014 12:04

There's no toilet shown on the floor plan?!

IssyStark · 10/09/2014 15:55

It was originally on for £75K in January, dropped to 65K in March, 50 in June and now 45K in Sep.

It's a horrendous price now, but what were the vendor and EA thinking in January?

Soonish · 10/09/2014 20:52

Sorry but am loving Roneik's posts - not necessarily that I agree fully or understand but it's the way she does it Grin

fiorentina · 10/09/2014 22:07

Not sure they really needed details of the nearest schools on the description! Where would you store a child?!

Unexpected · 10/09/2014 22:17

In the space where the toilet should be??
