Literally [shocked] at the asking price, and they couldn't be even bothered to tidy up or to take down the christmas lights!

It's not even a London postcode (you pay so much less for non-London postcodes)

Rubbish, if you know anything about south or west London property markets. Looked in Richmond or Kew recently?

People will be looking past the decor to the b

JassyRadlett · 10/08/2014 10:40

Oops.

People will be looking past the decor to the bones of the house, size of rooms, potential for loft conversion, local area and proximity to transport.

BranchingOut · 10/08/2014 10:50

It just needs some work, but is otherwise a good house.

We have viewed at least a dozen houses in a worse state than that when moving around in London. It is just how it is and you need to look past it.

Shallan · 10/08/2014 10:56

That's a fair price for that area and size actually! Obviously it's cluttered but all that stuff would be gone by the time you complete.

Shallan · 10/08/2014 10:57

And I don't think people pay more for "london postcodes" - it's all about the area, the commute, and the square footage.

Mylovelylovelyhorse · 10/08/2014 11:24

Lol at the 'eat in kitchen'

thefirstmrsrochester · 10/08/2014 11:42

They didn't even take the clothes off the rotary drier. And there is what looks to be an umbrella jammed in over the table on the patio. Yy, a skip on moving in day would be requisite.

EugeneKrabs · 10/08/2014 12:03

It looks a tenanted property to me. They always present horribly

CKOneILoveIt · 10/08/2014 12:06

actually, although they are hoarders and like to have caged creatures in the sitting room, I don't think that's a bad house at all. Get rid of their crap and you have a very good house there.

Serenitysutton · 10/08/2014 12:10

That's vile. You don't pay London prices in beckenham

Serenitysutton · 10/08/2014 12:11

Jassy- there is a world of difference between Richmond and beckenham. Or rather, several hundred thousands difference.

Only suburban Londoners would consider that London anyway

CKOneILoveIt · 10/08/2014 12:12

That's not 'london prices' though is it!? that'd be 800k in the parts of london I know.

Deverethemuzzler · 10/08/2014 12:14

Nice house.
I bet they are tenants and don't want to move out.

Is that a shopping trolley in one of the pictures?

On the other hand I am seeing houses in my area that are being put on with NO work done to them. Sold as seen, grotty carpet and woodchip n' all.

This never would have happened a year ago. No one would have looked at an non neutralised, un-gussied up house before it all went bonkers.

People had to work to sell their properties. Now they are just sticking them on, flogging them and fecking off to Clacton with the proceeds Grin

QisforQcumber · 10/08/2014 12:15

Eugene Thats a bit harsh! We lived in rented accommodation for many years before buying and our house was always presentable and nicely furnished. Not all tenants are messy and clutter collecting you know.Confused

kilmuir · 10/08/2014 12:17

Its not bad, just got a lot of stuff, maybe why they are selling

ChanelNo19LoveIt · 10/08/2014 12:22

When I viewed my house the tenants played that game! they left ashtrays full up to the brim they ordered a takeaway the ngith before and left the plates and empty beer bottles on the floor of the bedrooms! the house smelled of wet dog, fags, curry, and I still put in an offer.

ChanelNo19LoveIt · 10/08/2014 12:23

QisforQcumber, I had come from a rented house and I did the same, left it spotless for viewings. I didn't mean to imply all renters did this! I was a renter. Renters are otherwise known as People ;-p and some people behave well and some .............

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 10/08/2014 12:26

It's an OK house - aside from whatever the issue with the windows is/has been. Presumably, all of the "stuff" would have gone by the time any purchaser moved in anyway.

Whether it's worth the money I've no idea. Where I live that price would get you a 5/6 bed detached with land.

Deverethemuzzler · 10/08/2014 12:58

Q my point was that sometimes renters are being pushed out of their home because house prices suddenly rocket and the vendor quite rightly wants to cash in.

Renters are not messier than owners but they would be less invested in selling the property quickly wouldn't they?

QisforQcumber · 10/08/2014 13:06

Devere and Chanel, sorry it was Eugenes comment I took offence with. "always presented horribly". Not that they might be reluctant to leave tenants. Grin

Deverethemuzzler · 10/08/2014 13:08

I know but I didn't want you to think I was dissin' renters Grin

QisforQcumber · 10/08/2014 13:11

Not at all Smile

EugeneKrabs · 10/08/2014 13:23

Q, yes, I rented too and was a considerate tenant, but unfortunately, the tenanted houses that I've viewed having bought 5 times have been presented in a shabby state. Largely, because the tenants have no vested interest in the property presenting nicely for viewings. I accept I should have put "ime" in my prev comment.

EugeneKrabs · 10/08/2014 13:24

I see others have since made the same point.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 10/08/2014 14:10

Well, Beckgrnam is in London Borough of Bromley. So very much London. What would people consider London? Touristy zone 1 and 2? Confused
