What colour is your sitting room/lounge? Give me inspiration please!

Planning to paint the living room in our new house this weekend. I was thinking a pale soft grey, dh not so sure. He wants cream :(

We don't want a feature wall and can't afford wallpaper.

We've got a pale yellow toned cream - it's one of Dulux's standard emulsion colours, I forget the name. It wasn't my choice, but it's inoffensive. If we were to do it again I'd use Dulux Natural Wicker which we used in a bedroom - a brown toned cream colour that works well with lots of other colours for soft furnishings and accessories. We'd just moved in and got a buy one get one half price deal in B & Q.

Beware grey in case it makes the room feel cold - depends which way the room faces and the quality of light as well as on the shade of grey. Get some testers and try a few things before the weekend.

We have a soft/warm yellow, not to everyone's taste but works really well in ours because it's north-east facing and could easily look cold & uninviting

Our lounge is a soft pale green colour / with blue & grey tones so quite similar to a duck egg blue

What about a farrow and ball 'white'. We used strong white. It has a grey tinge but isn't at all cold? Or a really strong grey, pavilion grey? We colour match to dulux to save money..

White. No idea what white, it's a new build and we can't put anything on the walls for a while.

I thought I'd hate it but I actually love it.

Ours is natural wicker on toe walls and then a kind of mid brown on the other two (including chimney breast wall). Think it was called 'truffle' but may have made that up. It's nice, pretty neutral but we have lots of pictures/photos/prints up.

Toe?? Two obvs.

Magnolia. It works for me. Everywhere.

I've just painted mine natural wicker and I love it. It's not a brave colour but it's very cosy. I had homebase caramel cream before, which was lovely too.

Dulux rum caramel no 3. It's a really cool restful colour.
Our living room gets the sun all day, we wanted something that would tone down the brightness.

we have polished pebble...which is a pale grey...tis calming but neutral!

We have a kind of greyish blue and white which I really like. The living room looks quite austere but we've softened it a bit with a chandelier (not a naff one), a rug and some orange/red glassware.

I'd wanted a greyish green but couldn't find one we liked at the time though I have now so the spare room is about to be painted in it.

Black.

Mine is orange and turquoise! I would imagine it's not to anyone else's taste on this thread going by the amount of cream and grey, but we love it. It's a sixties semi and has a mid century Scandinavian feel.

Mine's teal. You can see a wee bit of the wall in the photo.

Cream with end walls a soft taupe to "bring them in" ( long thin room). Red, cream and taupe striped curtains, one grey sofa, one blue one. Recently completed - looks great.

Magnolia - totally boring and I would love to change it but am too lazy .

We have a pale grey on all walls. It's a dulux mix but can't remember the name, I think it was chiffon something.

I find it very relaxing and not at all cold. Window is south facing. Cushions, curtains etc are in pink and lime green to brighten it up.

Teal here too. It's a dark, cool, north facing living room so we embraced the darkness and it really works. It is a fairly big room with high ceilings and a 6 window bay so I'm not sure such a heavy teal colour would work elsewhere. They do say you have to consider the light aspect and work with it not fight it.

dreamy peach, which is a soft light orange, i wanted a red sofa but couldn't get one at the time so got a burnt orange 4 seater fabric sofa, with rich tea biscuit carpet beige with a fleck and the same light beige curtains, i have a picture rail too so above it, is just white same as the rail and the ceiling!

We've had Dulux Willow Tree on our walls for a few years now, which is a pale green. It's very calming.
In fact, we've just painted dd's the same.

We have grey and purple. Still not sure about the grey but this our first time we've been able to decorate and not live in magnolia.
