and why?

To me it isn't clear!

Nice house but overpriced IMO for somewhere that isn't actually in East Dulwich and is at least a 15 min walk from a station/much in the way of amenities. I'm aware that is nothing for some of you rural folk but for us Londoners it matters Grin

Mintyy · 14/06/2013 22:57

Oooh I really like that house you linked to Miffy but the estate agents bumph is, literally, hysterical!

I agree that distance to the station is important.

I'm 8-10 mins walk from the station (just under 20 mins into Manchester Piccadilly) and wouldn't go for anywhere further away.

miffybun73 · 14/06/2013 23:00

Oh I know Mintyy Do you think they get special training to write such ridiculous stuff?

Mintyy · 14/06/2013 23:01

Well, to be fair cassell, most of East Dulwich is nowhere near the station. ED station is almost in Camberwell.

MacaYoni, do you live in Australia? We're finding it quite hard to get vividly-coloured tiles, but the range of "A Hint of Tedium" shades is mind-boggling.

UniS · 14/06/2013 23:05

The one with the hedge. you can see it through the sitting room windows.

cassell · 14/06/2013 23:07

True Mintyy but I personally wouldn't buy anywhere in London more than 5-10mins walk (we live 4mins from our closest station) partly because I'm really a country girl at heart and get scared walking too far from a station at night or even when it's dark at 5pm in the winter

Justfornowitwilldo · 14/06/2013 23:14

It looked like the one with the wheelie bins to me. I though you always focus on the entrance of the property you're selling. Apparently not!

beginnings · 14/06/2013 23:15

Definitely still East Dulwich but it is a walk from the decent amenities bit of Lordship Lane. I like Lordship Lane and ED is great for buses but it is rubbish for trains. I've never understood the prices there. I live about 15 mins drive away with much better transport links and infinitely better schools and house prices and a Waitrose

MortifiedAdams · 14/06/2013 23:17

I dont understand where any confusion has come from - the camera is pointing right at the one with the nice fence.

thenightsky · 14/06/2013 23:19

How much for a bog standard terrace???? Fucking hell Shock

OneStepCloser · 14/06/2013 23:20

It's the hedge one, the bin house has different blinds.

Devora · 14/06/2013 23:22

I used to live on Barry Road - I really like it round there.

Price seems to me to be normal for London.

Justfornowitwilldo · 14/06/2013 23:22

London prices are bizarre when you first see them. The strangest thing is walking down a street thinking it looks dodgy and discovering later that the prices start at £600k. You have to totally readjust your eye to what is 'normal.'

Justfornowitwilldo · 14/06/2013 23:24

I figured out it was the hedge one from the photos. I showed DH and asked which one he thought was on sale and he got it right. He is now being smug.

ClaraOswald · 14/06/2013 23:24

It's the one with the hedges.

MacaYoniandCheese · 14/06/2013 23:26

We're in Canada, echt. Home decor colourways available are firmly in the "Essence of Ennui" range. Boring Sad.

IsabelleRinging · 14/06/2013 23:27

Nice house, so glad I live "oop north'' as a house like that would cost around £250K near me in a nice neighbourhood.

Fairylea · 14/06/2013 23:27

Absolutely the one with the hedge.

Seems crazily priced to me but then I live in south Norfolk where you can get a 4 bed for 150k!

Goal · 14/06/2013 23:29

Cheap due to shit location,it's in no mans land with regards to public transport.

thenightsky · 14/06/2013 23:49

IsabelleRinging It'd be more like 100k round my way Wink

DeffoBossLa · 15/06/2013 00:01

The one with the blue gate. Can't believe anyone would pay that much for it. Similar house where I am would be about £200,000.

echt · 15/06/2013 06:36

Ah, Canada, MacaYoni. Possibly it's something that characterises the former colonies.:o

I cannot believe how boringly beige so much of Australian decor is. The light here gags for vivid exterior colours, yet so many houses, and most are have all walls painted, look as if they picked up a job lot of of battleship grey, camouflage shite or funereal charcoal after a major war.

nooka · 15/06/2013 06:49

I come from South London and struggle to understand the appeal of East Dulwich. To me it's the grotty bit of Dulwich, when I was growing up it wasn't desirable at all! Having said that you probably wouldn't be able to buy a shed in Dulwich Village for that sort of price..
