Have looked at Bathstore. Anywhere else?

Victoria Plumb have just messed us around with our order. Items constantly not in stock, when they are supposed to come into stock I ring for a delivery date only to be told they're not in for another month.

I ordered 8 weeks ago and we're still waiting for 2 items - they couldn't care less. If stuff is in stock, go for it, but have a really long lead time and somewhere to store everything if you're waiting for items to come in.

MmeLindor · 25/04/2013 18:36

Thanks, alien.

There have been too many mixed reviews on here. Not going to risk it cause we are planning a huge renovation project and I need stuff here on time

Definitely don't risk it.

I'll never use them again. At this rate we're not going to have everything in by the date the bathroom is being installed and we'll have to postpone, which could delay things by weeks. Grrrr.

I've just noticed this thread..but I can recommend Tubs and Loos, can highly recommend, plus they offer a price match guarantee, which is good if you've been given various quotes!

Lesley1967 · 28/05/2013 23:28

Easy to book items - another storey trying to get them. Delay upon delay - appalling . I ordered items 4 months ago .... Still waiting ...

Roadcode · 12/07/2013 17:45

I have just received my delivery from Victoria limb and all taps, wastes, plugs, sink and unit missing. Paid over ?3530 and vp are saying that those items were not on list and my order total in sterling was £2400. How when does £2400=?3530??
Delivery took 2.5 weeks and they would not give us corrier details. Rude on the phone and on arrival no delivery document and no email confirming costs, and items ordered.
Boxes arrived broken and many items were not labeled. Poor service and ripped off.

PicassoBaby · 15/07/2013 13:09

I'm stuck in pretty much the same predicament because I'm renovating my bathroom and i have seen one on 4bathrooms because it was the cheapest on google shopping. Does anyone have any experiences in dealing with this company?

VictoriaJAndrew1 · 15/08/2013 13:58

BEWARE OF VICTORIA PLUMB!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE!!

I have had a similar experience to Fussychica where twice a delivery has been arranged and twice they have failed to deliver with no courtesy notification leading to loss of earnings of two full days.

I made an online order that apparently suffered IT issues in the process and therefore I have received no order confirmation/breakdown from VP and cannot log on to my account yet the funds were debited from my account some 7weeks ago! I have also never received a copy of their T&C's for our contractual agreement despite it stating online that they send a copy to the customer once VP accept the order.

They are current outside the T&C's listed on their web site that all orders must be delivered in 28days.

Every time I call to speak to customer services they treat me as if "what's the big deal, so your product is late, that's just they way it is" they offer a "deal with it" attitude to their service that quite frankly is the most appalling way any company has ever made me feel as a customer.

I would STRONGLY advise you not to be lured into the continual discounting that VP offer as its quite obvious from the many similar stories I have read/heard since making my order that they are not in a position to support the demand, both from a product and customer service perspective.

Well that's the second thread which has miraculously recommended Bathempire. Two different posters too. What a coincidence. Hmm

Same story here with Victoria Plumb! Still waiting for a response from the so called 'customer care' team. I have called them over five times sent them three complaints email and to this day (after a week)...nothing. The items came faulty and I am stuck with builders waiting to renovate bathroom. I even paid £50 for next day! to be left over a week for a call back and still waiting...this company should be allowed to trade!

Fostee5 · 04/11/2013 16:57

I've relied on Mumsnet for everything from electricians to paint recommendations, so I really, really wish I'd checked before I ordered our shower door from Victoria Plumb. I got an email saying the door would be delivered between 7am and 9:28 this morning, so I trekked over to our newly purchased, very cold and smelly empty flat to wait. It's now 5pm, and still no shower doors. I've made 3 phone called to VP, and each time they've promised to get back to me with a status update, but still no word. I wonder if Amazon has shower doors?

BEWARE Big Bathroom Shop - do not purchase from this company, they have been absolutely terrible.

Customer services were unhelpful - having provided contradictory information. Product was delivered, and charged for, twice after an amendment to the original order (and after receiving guarantees that this would not occur.)

The product that was delivered was not fit for purpose. The qualified plumber I had employed refused to be responsible for fitting such a low quality product. This subsequently delayed the refurbishment timescale. When speaking with customer services they refused a refund unless evidence was submitted. That this is neither mentioned in the company's terms and conditions and most certainly is not a requirement of government legislation - The Sale of Goods Act 1979, seems to have passed this company by. It is now 5 weeks since I last had any contact with anyone from the company, despite repeated attempts to contact.

However, there is always a silver lining to any cloud. I have subsequently learnt that it is much better to go with a local, independent company, then a big national company. They take pride in customer care. The service that I was provided by the Egham Bathroom Company was fantastic. If you are local to Egham in Surrey - I would fully recommend. Their website is not much, but they don't need it because the quality of their products and services speaks for itself. It is on the grounds of Egham football club. Great value for money, very helpful advise (in fact after weeks of trailing around all the big companies, these guys answered all my questions and then some.) I am more than happy with everything that I purchased off them. Amazing.

I used Victoria Plumb to supply all my bathroom equipment. It was the first and last time I will use them. Their customer service is appalling. So you take a chance, if it all goes ok then you get what you pay for. If you have to query something then best of luck.

While most of my items were ok, I had one item which where not good. It was a relatively inexpensive shower riser rail, only £39 which wasn't bad value. But to fit the thing was an impossibility using the parts provided. Long story short, I emailed and photographed an explained the problem. But they wouldn't acknowledge that i had a problem and in the end i got a stroppy email telling me to go see my trading Standards office.

I've also written a couple of product reviews on their website. Of course, mine tell the truth and never get published. Take a look at the reviews yourself. They only publish good ones.
Take my advice...shop the internet and avoid Victoria Plumb unless you relish the hassle.

BTW.. did you know that Victoria Plumb is MFI? MFI went under because they had shoddy product and customer service. Its only time before VP goes the same way.

Wiser · 16/06/2014 16:00

I ordered from Victoria Plumb and all went fine until delivery time, I was given a delivery date, assured it would be delivered on that day, maybe not during the time frame given but definitely the day. It was not delivered after I told the lady in the office I shall take the day off to wait for the goods to arrive. I was never called to be told this, they were so apologetic and I was told the guy ran out of time, the next day I was told nothing and still it did not get delivered. In the end I cancelled the purchase as after the 3rd time of getting hold of them I was told it would be delivered the following week Wednesday. Went to the bank and did a charge back and I will never do business with them again.

hyperspacebug · 16/06/2014 16:35

I'm sorry Wiser, that sounds so stressful. I'm not sure I can do it in empty future house (just a street away from us) with small children...shudder.

PS. Has anyone used Victoria Plumbing? I haven't seen Victorian Plumbing mentioned (as opposed to Victorian Plumb). I'm tempted as I like their range more, but their website is clearly run by IT cowboys - the checkout process was a nightmare, I gave up and maybe I was saved from my costly mistake?

chorse5449 · 18/06/2014 22:24

Hi have just had awful experience with VP - they dont respond - tried to place on line - didnt confirm. Then by the time i got hold of them they didnt have the crucial date that had been promised online - i could have express delivery for extra 50. Have had to repeatedly ring them to ask for confirmation of cancellation . Lost 3 days work and have had to start all over again shopping from several outleets on ebay. All of which could do better than VP. They may be cheap but not worth the heartache!!!

chorse5449 · 18/06/2014 22:28

look on ebay - who says you have to get everything from one place. Victoria Plumb are toxic

Lifeisforlivingkatie · 19/06/2014 08:30

I have just used the following for two bathroom.

Adamezez bath from bathroom solutions, bette bath for kids bathroom, tiles and unit from porcelanosa, kids bathroom tiles from tileflair. Taps from bathroom village, shower units from Claygate. Claygate is on line and food value.

craftysewer · 20/06/2014 01:40

We bought a VP double ended bath and a free standing tap and shower attachment. I managed to drop the shower attachment when cleaning the bath and it cracked the bath Shock and then went to wipe the top of the tap and the whole of the tap came away in my hand resulting in water everywhere. Wouldn't use them again. Things look nice, but the quality isn't up to much.

shelsco · 20/06/2014 02:17

I would recommend Aquadon. Great quality- the plumber who fitted it asked where I'd got the stuff and commented on the quality. No problems with delivery either. Used them to do a bathroom two years ago and four years ago and both grwat. Only weak point is plug is a bit plastic and not great (although it has lasted okay). Can easily replace a plug though if everything else good quality.

trevoreh1954 · 03/07/2014 15:05

hi, we purchased a set of keswick bath taps off VP in april and they were delivered and everything came which was fine, once the plumber had fitted the keswick bath taps we found the taps to be dire in relation to the flow rate, we then emailed VP about their problem and they kindly sent replacement cylinder inserts we gave them to the plumber and whilst i was there he changed them and we put the replacement cylinder in the H/W tap but on doing so we checked with the one we took off and found them to have identical water outlet holes in them , upon seeing this we were not confident in there being any difference in pressure, and upon fitting them we found this was to be the case, so we ended up putting identical cylinders back in the bath taps, waste of time and money (plumbers don't work for nothing) all we were asking for were better cylinders that allow more water to flow without there being restrictions on them. i have emailed them and hopefully they will send out a better cylinder insert for the h/w tap as the keswick bath taps now take 3 times as long to fill the bath as opposed to the old ones, i will let you all know what happens next..

trevoreh1954 · 03/07/2014 20:32

this is response from VP.....Hello. I have had a response from our tech team. The reason for the slower running is not due to a fault. The style of the Keswick bath taps means that there is a wide aperture. Water is forced through at the usual pressure and when it leaves the tap at the wider aperture the flow slows down (something that I have been told is called the Venturi Effect). I hope this is clear however if you need further advice please do not hesitate to ask. There is however no fault with this item as per my colleague who is a time served plumber has confirmed. ....so any plumbers out there, can you confirm what they are saying is right..

marymungomidge · 30/07/2014 19:32

I wouldn't use this company again if they paid me. Next day delivery was cancelled and rescheduled by them (without letting us know) five times - unbelievably rubbish service which meant out major renovations on a house far from home were severely disrupted, my husband had to wait in for several days for a toilet which wasn't delivered till we'd made many phone calls and sent emails, and we had to rebook our plumber for the following week. Totally rubbish.
