any one bought from made.com?

I like the look of a lot of the sofas on made.com. Good prices but I looked up reviews online and they were really mixed.
Lots of people had problems with delivery or the delivery of damaged goods and had problems rectifing it. But others were very happy.

Anyone have any personal experiance?

Hello, this thread is a little old and some of the links may be out of date. There was lots of discussion around Made.com with some users loving them and others having issues with delivery times and quality. As alternatives, users recommended Sofa.com and Sofas & Stuff. If you are still interested in Made.com you can check them out here. MNHQ

I'm just looking for reviews of this company as they have a bed I want. Anyone any recent experience? Have they upped their game customer service wise? Is that furniture good quality?

awaiting · 10/05/2016 13:25

Hi, yes I have. I bought the Jensen table & bench. Delivery time was a little slow, but as I was not in a rush it was non issue. The quality is good, the table is sturdy, made of solid wood and the also looks good. Being picky the wood is a little darker than the website image, but all in all I would buy from them again as I feel I got a good quality piece at a good price. Hope that helps!

twolittleboysonetiredmum · 15/05/2016 15:20

Thanks, I'm still really unsure whether to chance it with a purchase as big as a bed. I find it worrying there's no info on how it's constructed etc (it's an ottoman bed so info on its mechanism etc would be helpful) hmmm

MMMWH · 31/05/2017 07:43

I know this is an old thread, but just to add a more recent experience in case someone searches for discussion on this topic ... I ordered a table in January and delivery keeps getting delayed. Estimated delivery is now October! The delays have happened with other items and customer service is woeful. However, I have been happy with the quality and pricing of the items.

Giraffeski · 31/05/2017 07:49

We bought a sofa and while the service was all fine and the sofa looked lovely, we ended up having to send it back because it was uncomfortable.
If you can get to one of their showrooms to try out the furniture it might be a good idea?
We have had other stuff from them and the quality is always fine but we really regretted buying a sofa without trying it- we lost £45 sending it back as we weren't refunded for the return shipping, and it was inconvenient having no sofa for six weeks while we ordered one that we did like.

curcur · 31/05/2017 07:53

Agree with giraffes ki. We've bought a few items and the quality is good but the lead times are ridiculous. My friend has a sofa from them which looks lovely and has worn well but the cushions are VERY firm and not particularly comfortable. Sofa.com is much better quality and more comfy.

tiba · 31/05/2017 08:26

I think their prices are good but it results in low quality products and to keep costs down they exploit young furniture designers and get everything bulk made in Middle East.

There is a made.com showroom in London.
If you go there you will see what the furniture ends up looking like.

The upholstered items looked the worse by far

SpringtoSummer · 31/05/2017 12:38

I bought a desk and although I like it the delivery was so bad there's no way I would use them again.

DavidMok · 16/01/2018 13:26

Do not buy from this company!!

I ordered a Lulu bed online in September, the wrong bed was delivered in November. Customer service promised to deliver the RIGHT bed in 3-4 weeks. I called in December when nothing arrived. They said due to a computer glitch, my re-order wasn't processed, so I have to wait ANOTHER 6-8 weeks! Today, the replacement bed finally arrived, and it's the same wrong size bed they delivered in November!!

Worst e-commerce experience I've ever had. I'll NEVER buy anything from them again. Just disgraceful how they treat a customer who handed them the money 4 months ago, and still have no bed.

whiskyowl · 16/01/2018 15:16

Good lord, well this is eye-opening. I shall reconsider getting a table from them.

AKNMAH · 06/03/2018 09:29

Avoid Made.com!

Had a horrendous first experience with the delivery of a table and bench. Made the mistake of ordering something else and had nothing but issues. Supposed to be with me within 8 weeks - pushed back another 6!

Plus horrendous service.

wheresmyphone · 06/03/2018 16:56

I have bought quite a bit and have an excellent experience. Good quality, good prices. Only once had s problem but that was the courier not made.com

giardiniera · 06/03/2018 20:17

A visit to the showroom soon put paid to the ideas we had of buying from this company!

Crumbelina · 06/03/2018 20:21

I've always liked Made and never had a problem. Their lead times can be a bit long (buy are always clearly displayed). I'm a big fan of their furniture and lighting as it's great quality and excellent value for money, but wasn't overwhelmed with their sofas, dining chairs etc. Essentially anything upholstered.

PinkyPinkyPink · 07/03/2018 12:30

Never bought from them as I liked the look of stuff online but when I went to the showroom was disappointed with the quality, all style and no substance.

Krisss · 12/03/2018 23:15

I’ve had bad experience with them too, the order was delayed for many more weeks than initially suggested on their website so I have cancelled it. The lady on the phone did not object and said she had cancelled my order and issued a refund which was not true. Luckily I paid via PayPal and could claim the money back through them although it took another few weeks.
Floor cushion is still to be delivered but I do not have much hope in this company now.

Cuba7 · 08/04/2018 00:28

Feel the need to add here... DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! Poorly designed dinning room chairs. Even though they are aware, they are refusing to collect their faulty products without boxing. It has been 8 weeks since they were delivered and as I wasn’t expecting to return them, we got rid of the boxing.
So no refund
Ignoring my emails
Complaints team not responding either
Holding onto my money
Will need to take this matter to court

Absolutely ridiculous customer service or more correct, lack thereof.

AVOID

Yvest · 08/04/2018 15:15

Bought loads including tables chairs and sofas. No issues whatsoever

thelikelylass · 08/04/2018 16:17

I have a dispute with them via the Furniture Ombudsman. Absolutely appalling, bought the goods last July, put together October (after refurb) and faulty. Still don't have the replacement part and won't get it until June. They are dreadful at responding, hence the involvment of the Furniture Ombudsman (who have been a big wet lettuce during this as well.)
Very similar to Cuba7's experience.

siobhannyc · 16/11/2018 10:01

I bought a sofa, horrible looking, cheap and nasty fabric, don't buy!

Tropicalgreen · 12/01/2019 12:31

Hi everyone just for info.....

made.com have the same sofas (but with different names) and maybe other stuff as article.com
This is an American/Canadian online comapany.

I would imagine all the sofas and items come mass produced as both websites offer many of the same items and that is why they take so many weeks on order and why if there's a problem with the furniture it isn't resolved in an adequate manner.

I was thinking of a Scott sofa but at article.com it's called Sven couch!!!
Will not be entertaining this outfit however reasonable the prices, I'd rather buy from dwell or Heals to be honest, does anyone have any bad experiences there?

ToBeClear · 12/01/2019 23:08

I think made.com have improved considerably since these initial comments. We have 3 sofas, a sofa bed and bed from them and absolutely love them. Great customer service too. We bought a ceiling light and decided we wanted a different style. They didn't bat an eyelid when I called to return it and explained it had been opened and assembled. Got a refund as soon as it was received. Deliveries can take 6-8 weeks but everything we've had has been worth the wait.

any one bought from made.com?
any one bought from made.com?
ToBeClear · 12/01/2019 23:15

@Tropicalgreen I doubt they're the same - they have very different sofas. Agree the Sven is similar but US dimensions are much different from UK/Europe for furniture.

Tropicalgreen · 13/01/2019 12:43

@ToBeClear
You only need to see how many of the same sofas are on each website but with different names to know these products are outsourced.
They are obviously mass produced and distributed across the world to online companies.
Seems customer service at made.com is sadly hit and miss, if they were reputable they wouldnt quibble when things go wrong.
Your experience was good but if you'd received something faulty then been fobbed off as other posters have been you would be wary as I am.
I've bought lamps and kitchen items and accessories which were ok but the chest of drawers was faulty and I had a problem getting my money back and I resent paying so much for returns when it's faulty and a heavy piece of furniture.
I did compare sizes on Scott/Sven Connor/Cirrus Flynn and colours are the same as well as dimensions. However you look at it the sofas are mass produced. So is all this stuff on made.com, it's distributed across the world. My marble coasters had a leather lace holding them together and wrapped in crappy tissue paper saying made in India. Quality ok but package was unsubstantial. Took 6 months to receive the coasters!

Shopgirl1 · 13/01/2019 22:18

How long have you had the items though tobeclear?
