No it doesn t look yellow to me but may depend on your light, furniture and flooring. We have it in bedroom with a yellowish carpet and wood furniture.

Rooble · 27/03/2012 19:38

Yes I have and no, it's not. Tends to absorb (I probably mean reflect) some of the colour of the carpet etc. I find it really creamy and calming.

We tried the natural calico to go with one wall of soft truffle and it came up quite yellowy. DS choose soft nude instead (it his bedroom) but I think that was more to do with the name than the colour Hmm

feedthegoat · 27/03/2012 19:43

Mine doesn't look yellow and it teamed with a coffee colour (can't remember the name) and it does tone well.

I've had it for 3 years now though and have to say I really miss colour now.

Tranquilidade · 27/03/2012 19:44

Mine is not yellowy, it's very neutral.

Bamaluz · 27/03/2012 19:47

DS definitely doesn't want anything remotely yellow. It's surprising how many creams/neutrals seem to turn out yellow.
Natural hessian might be the safer option.
Thank you.

more creamy defo not yellowy though i have just changed it all for white pepper.

ThatVikRinA22 · 27/03/2012 19:50

i used to have it on my bedroom walls at the last house, i liked it. not yellowy at all

i have natural hessian on the hall/stairs and in my DDs room, in some lights that has a very very slight pinky hue, but its a lovely neutral colour, very safe!

EnjoyResponsibly · 27/03/2012 19:54

I have Natural Hessian, very nice. Not at all yellowy.

I had a right old time before Christmas trying to get cream that wasn't yellowy. Tried a million testpots and chose ivory cream but it was really yellow (which I should have known as I then discovered I already had it in the bathroom!). Had to repaint the whole sitting room in Natural wicker, which had more of a biscuit (pink) undertone.

clam · 27/03/2012 20:03

Oh, wait a moment, I think I might have natural calico in my bedroom. Which means that's the one that looks like lining paper! Keep looking at it thinking I need to cover it.

noyouhavehadawee · 27/03/2012 20:06

Yes thats it the colour of lining paper!

HandMadeTail · 27/03/2012 20:06

It is yellowy. Egyptian Cotton is a bit more grey.

BrandyAlexander · 27/03/2012 20:18

I have it. Lovely and creamy and not yellowy at all.

Bamaluz · 27/03/2012 21:03

Now he's going for walnut cream.

I have it and love it, but it was a shade darker than what I was hoping for. Ours doesn't look yellowy at all. I worried it would while it was drying but now it is done I'm happy. The warmth seem to me to be more of a brown undertone than yellow.

beachyhead · 27/03/2012 22:19

I had it in my old house and liked it. We use Egyptian Cotton here and I was told (between you and me) that Orla Kiely has her whole house in it. Also heard from an interior designer friend that Dulux Chalky Downs, (comes in 5/6 different strengths) is a sure fire winner. Whenever he fails in getting a client to agree, he paints in Chalky Downs and it wins.... It's the colour of Natural Limestone...

spongefingeranyone · 27/03/2012 22:50

Another one here with Natural Calico. I have it throughout my open plan living, dining, hall and it is beautifully creamy and light, definitely not yellow. Sadly moving soon so will have to start decorating all over again but will be very tempted to go with the it again.

CurrySpice · 27/03/2012 22:53

I am reminded of the time I was passing two ladies in the paint aisle discussing whether they should just "paint the whole house mongolian" :o

mumblejumble · 27/03/2012 23:32

Chic Shadow is much nicer...

Try Just Walnut. Nice and light, but not yellow at all.

Gentleness · 28/03/2012 01:42

Isn't Jasmine White more yellowy?
