Bargain: 24 packs of baby wipes for only 2.99, with free postage!

Just found this ebay listing this morning. It says 24 packs of 80 baby wipes for only 2.99, with free postage! The expiry date on the wipes was a few months ago, but we're not eating them! Just thought it was too good to be true - but for 2.99, it's worth risking it, right?!

Thanks very much - have just ordered 3 boxes.

Should keep us going for a while!!!!

qwertyshell · 17/11/2009 17:24

thanks iv just brought sum aswell

charliebrownsmum · 17/11/2009 17:33

just bought some too but seller has put them up to £3.99, still a bargain though

bigchris · 17/11/2009 17:36

is the seller the op?

Squishabelle · 17/11/2009 17:55

Just ordered some but it said 24 packs for £3.99 not £2.99.

suitejudyblue · 17/11/2009 18:12

Its funny that the price was just changed once this thread got going.
There's loads of neg feedback but I suppose you can't go wrong with wipes

qwertyshell · 17/11/2009 18:16

i got mine for 2.99 but when i went back for another pack they had gone up to 3.99.

CuppaTeaJanice · 17/11/2009 19:45

I've got an email saying mine have been sent already, with dhl 24hr. I'd have thought the delivery costs would be more than £2.99, so I don't know how they are making any money!

Feedback seemed ok, suitejudyblue - 99.4% or something. That's quite high for a volume seller.

I'll let you all know what they are like when they arrive!

NewPinkPup · 17/11/2009 19:52

Also had an email saying they've been sent. If they're any good, I'll be going back for some more, even if they have gone up by a pound

Squishabelle · 17/11/2009 22:12

Worth a shot even for £3.99. I use wipes for dusting so these should be ok for that!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 17/11/2009 22:35

No, bigchris, I'm not the seller!

Was only passing on a bargain tip to other mums!

The same seller had other listings for wipes, some were 5.99 and some were 9.99 - I couldn't really work out what it was saying, as it seemed the one I posted to earlier for 2.99 said it was one box of 24 packs. And the 5.99 seemed to say it was 2 boxes, and the 9.99 was 4 boxes - but I was still only seeing a total count of 24 packs. So since I wasn't sure what they were, but the one I bought from earlier said it was 24 packs, I just stuck that one up.

The same seller has "Babylegs" (leg warmers) for only 3.99 with free postage, and various size 1 and 2 Cotton Tots (shaped cloth nappies) for 1.99 and 2.99 each - again free postage. As well as Bamboo bath towels (from Tots Bots) for only 2.99.

Not really sure how they do it, especially the wipes at that price, as surely DHL costs more than that - esp to send to me, who's up in the Highlands of Scotland! So a bit of a mystery. I'm guessing maybe they are selling overstocks for some major baby website, or shops? Dunno really - just a guess!

have ordered some as well. DC's are now 8 & 11 but wipes still handy for all sorts, especially cleaning.
thanks

thebluefoxategreensocks · 17/11/2009 23:13

I think only 40 boxes had been bought when I purchased mine this morning, and auction listing now says 87, so guess they thought they could raise the price by a pounds and people would still buy!

OP posts:
trace2 · 18/11/2009 09:05

now 4.99

thebluefoxategreensocks · 18/11/2009 10:41

bit cheeky of them to keep raising the price! I hadn't bought anything from them before, so was unaware of how they do things.

OP posts:
Squishabelle · 18/11/2009 10:50

Cheap as they are, I hope that no one else buys any in protest at this cynical raising of the price.

Lionstar · 18/11/2009 10:54

"cynical raising of price"

HELLO, they are a business not a charity. Supply and demand and all that. Still cheap as chips at 4.99, or 10.99 if it came to that!!

JoeyBettany · 18/11/2009 11:11

i've just bought some at £4.99. What a bargain!

CuppaTeaJanice · 18/11/2009 17:55

Now they are £5.99!

Glad I saw this thread early!!

carrielou2007 · 18/11/2009 18:12

Me too, ordered some at 3.99 now they are 6.99 the weight of them would cost more than that? Even if they are a little bit dried out (they say out of date) I don't mind using 3 or 4 insted of 1 or 2 for that price!!!

CuppaTeaJanice · 18/11/2009 18:23

If anyone wants a lot they are still doing 2 boxes (48 packs) for £9.99 and 4 boxes ( 96 packs) for £15.99 - free post.

Just click on the sellers shop to find them.

FoJo · 19/11/2009 11:51

anyone got theirs yet? I have to say I'm feeling quite chuffed at getting them for £3.99 - could be heading for a fall when i see what arrives!

carrielou2007 · 19/11/2009 13:19

Mine arrived whilst I was at midwife earlier, they are fine!! Nice and moist even if they are out of date, they don't smell (I know they say f/f but some still have a sort of smell) and now thinking about ordering some more whilst they are still cheap. Bargain!!!

NewPinkPup · 19/11/2009 15:47

Mine have arrived & there's nothing wrong with them, I might get some more if I can find space to put them!
