Hi everyone,

This is an offer brought to you by Young Driver

It’s no secret that the younger you start learning something, the quicker it’ll sink in - and when it comes to driving, teens typically can’t wait to get behind the wheel.

Young Driver is offering an exclusive 10% off 30- or 60-minute driving lessons for 10-17 year olds with the discount code MUMSRULE10. Lessons run at 70+ venues across the UK on private land with fully qualified driving instructors.

Getting teens driving can be safe, fun and a great gift idea with Young Driver.

Use the code MUMSRULE10 for 10% off at Young Driver.

ds(15) did these a few times when he was around 12-14 as birthday or Xmas gifts. First 2 he enjoyed for the novelty factor, but the place they did it (top floor of a multistory carpark) was crammed with cars and there was little space and they were lucky if they got into 2nd gear, although they did try some manoeuvres.

during the 3rd one the instructor made him feel really uncomfortable, older guy (probably 65+) singing "Its all about the clutch", making awkward jokes and just being irritating through the whole lesson (1hr cost £60), and he said he didn't want to go back. We complained and got offered another lesson for free but ds wasn't interested.

It is random who you get on the day at these centres so I wouldn't risk again. We might try next year to find a local instructor who does lessons on private land instead and if he likes him at least we know who it will be if we book another one.
