Just wondering as mine is an hour (sometimes just over) and I am wondering if I am slightly mad!

15 min walk each way so round trip walking 40 mins, although only 2 mins in car so round trip 15 mins by car (have to park and take them in)

MollieO · 22/01/2010 13:44

If I get out the car then 20 mins round trip. If I drop and run then 15.

Across the road and in the back gate..20 seconds on a bad day!

ihaveaheadache · 22/01/2010 15:06

2 hours, I'm learning to drive so have to take the bus to collect ds. I leave the house at 11.20am, arrive at the school at 12.15, get back on the bus at 12.45 and put the key in the door at around 1.20ish. Dh drops him off in the mornings on his way to work. There is also a 15 minute walk up hill from the bus stop to the actual school. I'm 8 months pregnant and it's doing me in. If I fail my test next month I will be screwed.

SherriHewsonsNipple · 22/01/2010 15:47

if it was an hour id move tbh - oyu lot must be mental

trice · 22/01/2010 15:52

it would be less than 40 mins but nursery drop off is an hour after school drop off. So it takes 1hr 40mins. not convenient.

Cyb · 22/01/2010 16:12

Round trip? 10 mins

norksinmywaistband · 22/01/2010 16:17

45 minutes

Fruitbatlings · 22/01/2010 16:20

half an hour if you don't include gossiping at the gates/going for coffee

ihaveaheadache · 22/01/2010 17:18

I knew my "commute" to the school was ridiculous and now I have confirmation!

LIZS · 22/01/2010 17:25

2-3 mins drive (20-25min walk). Yes you are mad , we originally did 20-25mins eachw ay and it was kind of manageable but we really appreciated the difference. Having that sort of journey time made it impossible to work .

McDreamy · 22/01/2010 17:37

Did you move house or school LIZS?

house

ProfYaffle · 22/01/2010 17:44

Round trip is about 50 mins, by car 30 mins but that includes walking dd1 into class, helping with coat/bag etc. And this is our nearest school

ProfYaffle · 22/01/2010 17:45

Meant 50 mins on foot.

mamasmissionimpossible · 22/01/2010 17:48

15 mins there and back.

ShoshanaBlue · 22/01/2010 18:42

5 miles by public transport - takes roughly an hour and a half, sometimes longer...

thisisyesterday · 22/01/2010 18:43

about 5 minuteseach way

ShoshanaBlue · 22/01/2010 18:43

Just wanted to add also that this was the nearest school we were offered as there is a shortage of places, and yes, we do hope to move as soon as we possibly can....

mustrunmore · 22/01/2010 18:44

25-35 mins each way on foot&bus. Less than 25 on way back from nursery drop off, as I have no kids in tow

tjacksonpfc · 22/01/2010 19:00

ours is a round trip drive of 40 mins if go straight there and back. another one living in a wiltshirevillage whos dc goes to schoolin the next village.

lovecheese · 22/01/2010 19:01

about 7 mins each way, although if i let the toddler walk can take a lot longer (walk 10 steps, stop to pick something up, chat to lady passing by, carry, down again to look at ducks, sit on floor, few more steps, dummy needed, meander through a few gardens, carry again)
