DD starts school on Thursday, DS starts nursery the following Monday. Am feeling all wobbly and sad about it.

Slap me and tell me to grow up. I am looking forward to the spare time etc but I feel sad about it, I really do.

I know. I need to get a life.

I echo all these sentiments!! In fact, just started my own threads as couldn't see one on this subject.......

My twins have just started year 1 but last year I felt like this too!!

Infact even this year I felt sad that they wouldn't be in reception anymore....

Awwww I have to say how nice this is, after the "unspeakable" thread from a few weeks back when people admitted they were fed up of their children.

My DS is only a few months old so this is a long way away for me, but just giving you my sympathies .

Had a good cry in the back of ex's car today, on the way home.
Ds seemed happy enough though.

Me too allgone.

DD wouldn't turn round to say goodbye to me when we got to the school door, and it really upset me. So at that point I did cry. A lot.

Never mind. The first day of school is over. I think we deserve a drink.

Cried buckets when we started the nursery part of the school last term - DS went in full school uniform, and it just felt like it was the beginning of school. Both DH & I took him for the 1st day,and glad that we did.
However, on starting reception yesterday it just felt like going back after halfterm, he was soo excited about going back, DH went to work, and somehow there was no sense of occassion. Just glad it has all gone well!

went to the open day for dd's nursery today when we could take the dc's......

dd DID NOT want to go home, she was last out, could NOT get a dressing-up dress off her (it was a princess barbie one) and omg did she have a queen bee tantrum.

she did have a good time there before the tantrum tho
