Is anyone else a nervous wreck for the primary school admissions email to come out tomorrow, 16th April 2026? I’ve been a mess all day!!! Has anyone applied for schools in London?

RBKC here, no chance of the admissions results being published on the eAdmissions site before 5:00pm is there? I’ve bitten my nails down to the quick from stress 😭

I think they press send and run for the doors to go home 😂 they don’t wanna be dealing with all the phone calls

Have you ever tried ringing the council? They never answer anytime, so why would they answer today? I think they are just trying to boost their online visit stats while I refresh repeatedly. Imagine the advertising revenue they could be making from me today if they put ads on their portal

Placemarking!

Currently checking my emails and the portal on rotation for Sutton Surrey admissions!

Good luck everyone ♡

RBKC too. I doubt it, I've checked a few times just in case but nothing. The waiting is driving me insane!

I’ve just seen on the news that 98% of people in London have got their first choice school. That’s promising!!

FrenchandSaunders · 16/04/2026 12:48

I think it's true about people leaving London and also a falling birth rate.

My local school (South London) has recently gone from 3 classes per year, back to 2.

Junglekat · 16/04/2026 12:54

It’s 98% have got a preferred school place. So this is probably one of the choices that were put down on the form.

Unsure4589 · 16/04/2026 12:59

@Alicexo, I’m waiting on a school in Blackheath too 🙈 It’s our second choice and it’s super unlikely we’ll get our first choice, so it’s defacto first really.

Oh gosh! I bet we’ve applied for the same schools, ha! Our first is at the Standard and the second is in the village. No idea what we’re going to get!!

The portal doesn’t say anything besides outcome 16/0/4/2026.

I need alcohol to deal with this anguish.

I’ve just seen on the news that 98% of people in London have got their first choice school. That’s promising!!

We were told when looking (in London) that basically we would get into and school we liked and none were currently full in reception.

One state school has moved from 3 to 2 forms, another from 2 to 1. Two preps have closed, another gone co-ed.

It’s an area where previously you’d need to live on the doorstep to get into any of the schools.

The birth rate has fallen off a cliff. Wondering what this may look like by secondary stage - I’ve already heard it’s getting easier to get into the competitive private secondaries as there’s just less people who can afford it - add the big drop in birth rate and the landscape is going to be different again.

Checked the portal earlier and it said I will be emailed tonight.

Diamondsword · 16/04/2026 13:52

It will just be being sent out by an email platform, and they stagger the times so they aren’t all blocked as spam (probably).

Makes sense but why then do some councils not send them all like this?

Having to wait until 5pm onwards seems unnecessary

Nothing here my thumb hurts from checking so much 🤣
