Reception school allocations will be out in 3 days! How is everyone feeling?!

Choice number 1 is lovely and the best logistically but I adored number 2.

I'm petty confident we will get into 2 if we don't get number 1.

Anyone knows when Essex updates?

Hopefully there are a few more children than the last couple of years. Our local schools are hanging on by a lifeline - our OFSTED 'excellent' CofE village infants only has 8 in reception. Any more of this and more schools will be closing - we've already lost two village schools in the borough.

theres one local to me thats reduced numbers due to "aging population of the area" but based on no movement of housing due to the cost! so sad and frustrating

I’ve heard a rumour we might be midnight too - so I’m definitely going to be staying up 😂 I did like our second choice too, but as someone else said, I want to get organised and just know!

We’re in Surrey and very lucky that all 3 of the local primaries are lovely, and we happen to live 600m away from one, so we’ve gone for that as it’s the only one easy walking distance.

But somehow I still feel nervous!

I suppose because it feels like nothing is guaranteed until its there in writing and also because we’re a one child family, so this is both our first and last!

I’m West Berkshire! I’m so nervous! First time doing this! I really want our 1st choice but 2nd is still good!

Yorkshire here. I think it was before 9 am when we found out for our eldest a few years ago.

Nervous! My son will have just turned 4 when he starts and our first choice just seemed perfect for him as it’s very free flowing and play based. Our second choice is quite similar, and the third choice is our closest school but not the best reputation, I just wanted to have realistic options.

Southampton here, only glad that I have a huge deadline tomorrow so I’m hoping I’ll be so busy I won’t notice the time passing until we hear. Haven’t been able to settle my mind for thinking about it otherwise!

We’ve just got ours. First choice. I’m in shock as it was an absolute punt as we are miles out of the catchment but hoping to move into the area. Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting.
