Main thread for 2025 applications. Can’t find the previous thread for 2025 but from memory it has a typo in the title. I’ve only made this one to make sure everyone finds it easily!

Advice from previous assessments gladly taken. This is our first time applying. It’s a little early still so why don’t we start with where everyone is applying?

We’re looking at The Hall, Alleyn’s, Habs, Highgate UCS, and Manor Lodge. Have looked at some prep from previous threads and starting to think we’re seriously under-prepared…

@OneSillyBlueUser I haven't yet! She said to me that they typically invite back around 180 children for round 2. This year it is slightly above that - just a handful more.

Anyone have insights into Habs boys round 1 assessment? It’s 90mins long!!

Will Habs boys 1st round just be group based or will some of it be 1:1?

Am I supposed to inform my nursery that they should be expect report from NLCS for my DD? Do they ask report before 1st assessment or later?

Habs round 1 results are out.

So far I don’t know anyone who hasn’t been put through to the second round for habs girls…

I've had a lot of messages telling me they are through. Although, one parent said that she'd heard that a sibling didn't get through. I spoke with the Registrar a couple of weeks ago, she said that about 70 get invited back for the second round.

Wow. Did that sibling not get through this round? All the siblings I know of are through
they usually get 150 ish applicants right? So isn’t 70 a low number to invite back given they have to account for over offering as assume most kids sitting Habs will also do NLCS, SHHS, Highgate?

Think that’s what @mytwodadsis saying - no, it’s 70 each. Which I’m shocked by. Thought it would be higher given all the variables this year.

I know of people accepting offers then realising too late they can’t actually pay.

We didn’t get round 2 for habs unfortunately!

Not yet. Their email said they'd let people know tomorrow.

Think the email said they will let us know the week commencing 5th January.

Has anyone been rejected by Habs girls at first round yet? This year it looks like everyone applied has been accepted?
