4+ Assessments 2025

Main thread for 2025 applications. Can’t find the previous thread for 2025 but from memory it has a typo in the title. I’ve only made this one to make sure everyone finds it easily!

Advice from previous assessments gladly taken. This is our first time applying. It’s a little early still so why don’t we start with where everyone is applying?

We’re looking at The Hall, Alleyn’s, Habs, Highgate UCS, and Manor Lodge. Have looked at some prep from previous threads and starting to think we’re seriously under-prepared…

Anyone heard from Habs boys?
Did the teachers give feedback following the session?

not yet. Yes surprisingly they gave some feedback. Did you get any feedback?

@angpat Yes, we did get some feedback unexpectedly. How many children were in your group?

Has anyone heard from Highgate, ucs or the hall or Habs? We haven’t heard but a couple we know from a different nursery has heard from UCS

we’re supposed to hear back on Monday. Have you already heard?

yes we got some feedback too which I didn’t expect and not sure how much to read into it!

there were 6 children but i couldn’t tell if it was all group activity or 1:1. Ours lasted the full 1hr 30 mins

@Jamie3 yes, think it was a mix of group plus 1-1. Ours was around 1 hour.

was the feedback positive or negative?
we didn’t apply there btw

we just got told he was ‘quiet’ not sure if it’s just a passing comment or they say these comments to manage expectations! At this stage you over analyse everything they say or do so I’m not feeling very positive about Monday!

@getsetdadjust heard from Highgate. They did send the outcome out BY THE END OF 23rd as previously communicated. Good luck to everyone.

Well done! My DS also did. Still waiting on a few more school though

Congratulations! Coming up to decision time - eek! Open days for offer holders are next week

@sheepi congrats, my DS was also accepted at Highgate. We were a little bit disappointed that he didn't even make through 1st round of WUS, and this new is such a relief.

@KnackeredBunny congrats. Are you also waiting for the Hall?

Anyone considering The Hall or UCS over AH? We received offers for former two. Thanks

Well done to all DS. DS got offers from UCS, Hall and Highgate. Waitlisted elsewhere less competitive .

Do you mean Arnold House? That's a totally different entry point?

Yes but could move to Hall or UCS now.

They’re both arguably better schools…

The hall and Hereward House have gone out today. Not sure if it’s just offers though. FYI. The hall included a few lines of feedback on their assessment of the DS. Good luck to everyone!

We got UCS, the Hall but no second round for Habs

No feedback in the Highgate offer, just all the documentation & information about the acceptance process

DS has offers from Highgate, Hereward House and Wetherby. UCS waitlisted us and The Hall denied us. Still waiting on Habs, due Monday. WUS was a no at first round. Leaning towards Highgate. Are we missing a trick by declining Hereward?

@crxvtecI personally feel Hereward is a very academic school, best for a slightly more introvert and less sporty boy. Highgate gives me the impression that they really want self motivated and driven learner (very different from WUS which wants children to follow them).

are you looking for thought schools? Hereward is for 11/13+.
