No. Christmas and end of academic year is way too much as it is. I might buy some chocolate if it's a very good teacher though.

BoysAreLikeBunnies · 16/03/2008 22:13

No

MerLINDT · 16/03/2008 22:13

I would say no - I only do Xmas - but maybe I'm mean

funnyhaha · 16/03/2008 22:13

Swedes · 16/03/2008 22:14

PrettyCandles · 16/03/2008 22:14

Xmas and end of year, here, too.

Maidamess · 16/03/2008 22:15

No. Don't get suckered into the commercialism.

rainbowface · 16/03/2008 22:17

No, just xmas for me.

Heated · 16/03/2008 22:18

I used to get an Easter Egg from my form and which was an excuse for us to pig-out together, one of those 'sharing' gifts lol.

However, it's certainly not expected or very common in my experience. Unless there was something I really wanted to say thank you for, I personally wouldn't.

roisin · 16/03/2008 22:19

ds2 (8) has been 'creating' recently - painting mugs, decorating sun-catcher thingies, and making chocolate eggs.

I think these are destined for relatives rather than teachers, but I may be wrong.

Tbh I've just let him get on with it, and not got involved

PrincessPeaHead · 16/03/2008 22:19

absolutely not!
I do Christmas and end of year and that is enough, ta

avenanap · 16/03/2008 22:19

My neighbour sent me a happy easter card today. Why? save the cash and buy yourself some chocolate!

Whizzz · 16/03/2008 22:19

nooooooo

moondog · 16/03/2008 22:20

Christ no.
What is it with people needing to give crap al lthe time???

FAQ · 16/03/2008 22:20

no - but if you do - don't forget the TA's - they often feel left out

ladette · 16/03/2008 22:20

I'm not anti token gifts for teachers at Christmas and the end of year. Easter unnecessary IMHO, although DD might make her much loved teacher an Easter card this year. If DD insisted on giving something, would make it very much a token e.g. decorating an egg or making some Easter biscuits a) because I think it unecessary and b) because DD will not be popular if the only child giving a present.

LyraSilvertongue · 16/03/2008 22:21

No. There's too much present buying at school as it is.

Nemoandthefishes · 16/03/2008 22:21

I would say no..however DS[in nursery] on the way in on friday asked if he could get his teachers a cake for easter so we just picked up a 4 pack of dinkie cakes for £1.60

avenanap · 16/03/2008 22:21

They want to clutter up your house whilst giving their money to businesses that are just too greedy.

No, though this said Woolies have some Lindt eggs (about 4 tiny ones in a little packet) for a £1 ) so may do this as all mine's taff have been great

moondog am struck by the irony of your comment 'Christ, no'
given it's Easter surely that should be 'Christ, yes'
