runningonplenty · 17/03/2008 00:10

yes - my mums one and passes all easter/kinder/ mini eggs onto her children (ie: me!)

S1ur · 17/03/2008 00:13

And...............

No.

Think you got your answer

cornsilk · 17/03/2008 00:40

No. (Unless I teach your child in which case a Thorntons one would be nice.)

Ds insists on a card and chocolate for his lovely reception class teacher and I reminded him about the T.A. too.

Fortunately there are some very small cheap chocolate "tokens" available these days and most of all I'm happy for him to make/send a card as it's all good voluntary writing practice when he normally does the absolute minimum as far as his writing is concerned.

I think DS1's teachers desereve a pampering day, including full body massage, the amount of grief he's given them this term .

Sadly my budget doesn't stretch to that, so I might sheepishly send in a small bunch of flowers.

CrackerOfNuts · 17/03/2008 10:14

No

stealthsquiggle · 17/03/2008 10:31

Hmm - I came on to start the same thread, because I am currently so out of control I can't even remember if I did it last year, let alone whether it was the norm...

However, after the rave reviews DS and I got for Christmas cakes for teachers /TAs /DD's nursery carers, I am thinking home-made Easter biscuits... annoyingly, I know I had some easter gift bags which would be ideal, but I can't find them anywhere

Samantha28 · 17/03/2008 14:43

oh no please don't do it
please do not set a precedent for easter gifts

handlemecarefully · 17/03/2008 14:50

No! enough is enough. Blimey - got too much time on your hands ?

Peachy · 17/03/2008 14:56

No way, the Christmas spending got stupid this year (ds1's teacher got a Next voucher from the class for £300 - I just ignored the begging letters from fellow aprents and sent the usual wine though). It's a fiath school so we sned cards as Easter is the big festival and all that, but that's it.

stealthsquiggle · 17/03/2008 14:56

HMC - far from it. I seem to manage to be cash-poor and time-poor, but have visions of DS being the only one empty-handed on Thursday morning (paranoid - me?)

handlemecarefully · 17/03/2008 14:57

Ah, then hopefully the responses to this thread have set your mind at rest on that score

lackaDAISYcal · 17/03/2008 14:59

no, we never get anything for the teacher at any time.

Teaching my DS is joy enough I think

stealthsquiggle · 17/03/2008 15:14

You would think, and the OP seems to be reassured, but being truly paranoid I am thinking "but MNer's DCs are in normal, sane schools" and still contemplating where I can find the time to make biscuits
