Easy to open water bottle for reception

Just that really . He’s been using a Klean Kanteen for the past 3 years and it’s still in great shape ( and has not been lost yet ha ) but he can’t open it himself and that is a requirement for reception .

Also, do water bottles really go missing as often as I hear? My son has never lost his water bottle and it goes in and out of nursury, parties, sports etc and always comes back with him . What’s different about reception? Am I in for a shock ? 😆

Ion8 here as well, has lasted the full year of reception!

Also Ion8 here, and it’s come home every day through the whole of reception. There have been plenty of posts on the class WhatsApp group during the year about children coming home with each other’s water bottles but it’s always the same few. If yours has got in the habit of looking after his stuff at nursery and it has a name label it’ll be fine.

I'd totally recommend ion8 too, dd has had a couple now and I've been thoroughly impressed

My youngest (of 3) has just finished year 11, and I think between them they lost around 3-4 water bottles over the entire of schooling.

I'd say make sure it's one that doesn't leak, and looks a little distinctive, even if that's because you stuck a bright red label on it! It makes it less likely to be taken by accident.

Preferably one where the whole lid doesn’t have to come off, they are too easy to knock and spill.

Sistema twist and sip I think they are called. The supermarkets will have them in soon for £2 or something like that. Buy a few and wash them in the dishwasher. Never lost one but they can break after a lot of use.

To me they are the worst ones. They are small so they are hard to spot in the melee of water bottles and they are readily available which means there is often more than one.

And if there isn't then definitely several children will own one so everyone has to check it's not theirs that they haven't brought that day. Grin

Easy to use and easy to clean are definitely a priority but so is distinctive.

We just put a big name label sticker on them with a picture on. Daughter has never said she has issues finding it!

They just wash easily, no fiddly bits to go mouldy etc...

Whoops....that's a good plan. I don't think people realise how difficult it can be for them to find their own things from day one.

Another vote for ION8.
