That sounds a lot. More than dd's old primary, which I can't speak highly enough of. Some things they did:
They had loads of open evenings and presentations, as well as a termly one-to-one meeting with the teacher to discuss progress, which is a lot more than dd's previous primary.
Plus a newsletter every month, head teacher or deputy always there in the morning/after school.
Parents could book and come in to have a school dinner with their child (that was a great idea and very popular).
Their office staff were second to none, and always forwarded emails to teachers, were reassuring on the phone etc. School office staff are so important. The secretaries at dd's previous school were the devil incarnate.
A very good parents' association which also issued a monthly newsletter and had a separate website.
Any messages/notes in the home-school diaries were always answered without fail, even the most trivial questions.
