Tell you what, OP - I’m confused reading your posts.

15 children in one class and multiple classes indicate private school rather than state school.
So, yeah, you should change school if you don't agree with the school/teacher/head.
Tbh, if your child is already an advanced in reading at yr3, and taken out numerous times a week for reading, it just doesn't make a child even better reader. Something is totally wrong with teaching at your school.

All schools try to hear children read at least once a week, and if out of 15 children in the class only 6 ever get kept behind that indicates the issue is with those 6 children. Your son will be expected to complete work at whatever school he's in and, if necessary, that will involve losing part of lunch/break times.
As I said right at the beginning, you clearly have issues with the school as a whole so moving him is the best thing. I just hope the new school fulfils your ideal

Where are you OP? 20 days is 4 school weeks, where are the schools that are breaking up so early that it's not worth joining this academic year.

Home education isn't just about reading, are you sure you can take that on at no notice and meet you child's needs?

Even when it closed on a snow day.they marked all the children as unauthorized..so all got 95% and letters sent home

I know this school is no longer really your concern, but I'd suggest taking this up with the governors. It's ridiculous that the school is messing up its own stats in this way, and is potentially harmful to parents and children for whom the extra day might tip the balance into legal action.

Am just v confused.

How are you sure the new school will suit? All schools have their quirks?
