Hello, ive applied for two out of catchment schools and one in catchment school. However i mentioned on the form we were hoping to move by September at the latest to the non catchment school area. We move next month. If my dd doesn't get into one in our new area can i take it further?

Thanks tiggy....makes more sense now!

Hopefully we'll be offered something! Juggling act really as want as little upheaval for ds as possible.

Will update on Monday....hoping herts do theirs nice and early Grin

Tarahbab84 · 15/04/2016 08:12

Oh dear missesbloom that school sounds awful. One of the schools I visited also needed a good clean. It's got a good reputation locally and a good Ofsted but the cleanliness put me off. It's funny what we notice isn't it. Here's hoping you get the school of your dreams. All the best.

WakeUpFast · 15/04/2016 09:16

Can someone help please. We moved in January (within same area for school) and I've changed my address on the form online, but I can't change the address for my children. Will this cause any problems? Will the offer letter be sent to our new address?

drspouse · 15/04/2016 09:51

Right I've got the applications page up and will probably leave it up so I can refresh if I wake up not that I'm anxious at all in the middle of the night tonight!

Wakeupfast do you get paper offer letters where you are? We only get them if we applied late, here.

Got our offer at 3am. First choice. Over the moon as that means dc are in same school so don't need to worry about separate drop offs and pick ups.

Good luck everyone.

MiniMover · 15/04/2016 10:00

Tarah, re Ofsted reports, see my earlier post. Our nearest school is the only local one I will not accept. It is Ofsted graded outstanding but I don't like either it's practices or its ethos. Luckily, lots of other people are falling over themselves to get a place there hopefully freeing up a place for us at one of the others.

Can I join I'm getting nervous now. Ours are released tomorrow. I put my nearest school as first choice but it is ofsted outstanding, oversubscribed and I know there are a lot of siblings this year. We should be fine, we should be close enough but there is always that worry. I can't find the information for our area as to how far out they have taken places in previous years,

ZoeQ · 15/04/2016 10:47

I was expecting an email tomorrow letting me know our offer but I've just logged onto online applications and it's there. I'm absolutely gutted. My four year old Ds has been offered his older bother's school instead of his older sister's. Just can't believe it this time last year my Dd was refused a place at her brother's school and now my youngest Ds has been refused a place at his sister's school. I put down dd's school as first choice for Ds as I need my two little ones to be in the same place as I'd pick them up together and then pick my eldest Ds up from his school. My eldest Ds like I said waits for me to get to his school but I'm always 15 mins late and my four year old Ds won't be able to wait on the playground for me obviously. I feel sick.

Unbelievable ZoeQ just unbelievable. Does your sons school have a place for your daughter? It would be a shame to upheave her when she's settled though wouldn't it.

drspouse · 15/04/2016 12:20

I was wondering that about a space for your DD if two siblings are at one school already.

Nervously awaiting here to find out where my PFB will be going. Can't believe it is only a few days. Will be over the moon if I get first choice (nice small village school) but I don't live in the village and obviously no sibling advantage as he is the eldest. However, it recent years, there have been some non-village children getting in. Admission number is only 20 so we would be very lucky though.

Second and third choices are both mahoosive 120 per year group primaries half a mile from my house. Second is a "good" school, so I can't complain too much if that is what we get, but it does look more like an education factory than a community.

CommanderShepard · 15/04/2016 12:30

I'm sorry, Zoe :(

Witchend · 15/04/2016 13:03

Zoe, I would check that she's got sibling status for dc2's school. Because someone may have gone "he can't have sibling status for two schools" and taken him off that category. If they have, they have made a mistake and you should win an appeal.

ZoeQ · 15/04/2016 13:35

I've telephoned the council this morning and they've told me that my Ds was down as a sibling for both schools but that there was a high intake of siblings at our first choice school so we just missed out. I've already checked if there are any places in reception for my dd at my eldest ds's school and there aren't unfortunately. Don't get me wrong having two kids at two different schools is a challenge but it would have been so much easier to have both my little ones at the same school. Now I'm going to effectively have three pick ups and drop offs as my youngest is going to have to go to breakfast and after school club at my ds's school. There are no places for my 9 yo otherwise he'd be there to. But as it stands unless we win appeal I'll have to drop my youngest off at breakfast club (not based at the school) around 8am drop my eldest off around 8.20 and then race to get my Dd to her school.

Can't both the youngest and the oldest go to breakfast club?
If I were you I'd put all the children on the waiting list for the relevant year at the other school. Sounds like almost any other arrangement than what you have would be better.

OP posts:
Gizlotsmum · 15/04/2016 13:57

Oh no Zoe. I would ask where you are on the waiting list get all dc'd names on the lists for the other school and hope something comes up :(

FemaleDilbert · 15/04/2016 14:57

Can I join? First time going through this - we get our news on Monday. Had a sneaky look online at the admissions today but nothing there yet.
