Wish ours had an online portal - I don't think it does as I can't find one anywhere. Waiting for an email. Gah.

alien11 · 18/04/2016 00:11

alien11 · 18/04/2016 00:13

Petal26 · 18/04/2016 00:13

alien11 · 18/04/2016 00:16

Oh petal I'm so sorry. Fingers crossed for the waiting list

JonStark · 18/04/2016 00:17

I managed to see that there has been an offer, but when I clicked to see what it says 'service unavailable'.

JonStark · 18/04/2016 00:21

2nd choice. Not too bad.

zippyswife · 18/04/2016 00:21

Been trying to get on to see since midnight and it won't loa!! So frustrating!! Feel sick!

zippyswife · 18/04/2016 00:28

Ds2 got the same school as ds1! So relieved. Good luck to all those still waiting.

Finallyonboard · 18/04/2016 00:29

First choice, thank goodness.

Imaystillbedrunk · 18/04/2016 00:30

First choice. Phew. So happy for him.

Petal26 · 18/04/2016 00:30

Thanks Alien, I've calmed down now, emailing admissions!

BearGryllsHasaBigRope · 18/04/2016 00:34

Didn't get any of my preferences, have been offered a school that 'needs improvement' according to their last ofsted.

The email says we'll be placed on the waiting list for all schools that we applied for above the one we've been offered and I can check the status of the lists in a few weeks. Does that mean I now just sit and do nothing?

DramaQueenofHighCs · 18/04/2016 00:39

Very anxious here!! DS is likely to get in to first choice as he is a 'school bus' child and they get priority.
Our other choice schools are also LOVELY schools, but if we don't get in to first choice school then DS will be in breakfast club every day and after school clubs at least on the days I work and then with a 2 1/2 mile walk home with me as I don't drive and DH doesn't finish work til late!!
The school bus at his current infants (same site as Juniors but seperate school, they share busses) drops off just 2 mins from our house and the timings work out perfectly with my working hours and train times where picking up from school wouldn't!

Bear- call them tomorrow and find out the situation. Last year I knew several people who didn't get any of their choices- by September they had all been given one of their choices. The lists move a lot. Find out where you are on the waiting list and take it from there.

BearGryllsHasaBigRope · 18/04/2016 00:44

Thanks tiggy and zippy. Who do I call tomorrow? The schools or the admissions people? I'm so gutted, there are two schools just minutes away.

Figgygal · 18/04/2016 00:50

We got our first place and 2 friends who didn't think they'd get in as it's over subscribed did too they've put the intake up from 45 to 60 so think that made a difference.

Sorry to hear about disappointments

IwannabeKate · 18/04/2016 00:51

Website gone down, even got up to try another device in case it was just my phone but no luck, argh!

First choice, online. No email yet though.
Good luck to those waiting.
Fingers crossed for waiting list movement for those not getting their preferences

arandomname · 18/04/2016 01:20

Got the choice we wanted, phew!

Looking at the council website you'd have no idea that you can check online - or even where to go to do that.

But found it by Googling [council name] + school admissions

alien11 · 18/04/2016 03:18

ara that's so lucky you could do that!
Feeding my little one and frantically googling! 12 hrs to go...

TheSuspiciousMsWhicher · 18/04/2016 03:21

DD2 got her first preference. Phew! So relieved, especially as we had a nightmare time of it with DD1 a few years ago when she got none of her preferences. DD1 did get a waiting list place at our preferred school eventually though and now DD2 will join her so it all worked out.
