For the London admissions - I found the email from two years ago and the time it came in was 18:46 so it's going to be a long Monday if they wait that long this year. I'm guessing the staff go home before the email lands and prepare for a busy day of complaints and queries on Tuesday. That won't be a fun job for the staff and many parents will have a sleepless night.

Fingers still crossed I/the school/church/council haven't made an error as otherwise we should be ok with sibling entry. My little one really does want this school and to be with her big sister which I didn't realise fully. I hope to see lots of happy posts over the next few days. Good luck.

Dh just woke me up whispering that the girls have got in to our first choice in my ear. Lol

Good luck every one else! Xx

SpaghettiMeatballs · 16/04/2016 06:27

Wish I didn't have to wait until Monday. Pleased for those getting their first choice.

alien11 · 16/04/2016 06:34

Great news peng!!
spaghetti yup i wish we didn't have to wait until Monday too! My neighbour got her email @310pm last year and they say from 4pm. I've just booked up a busy day so hopefully it'll fly by...

smellyboot · 16/04/2016 07:33

Manchester are on line

ShowOfHands · 16/04/2016 07:38

Ours said late afternoon last time and the e-mail arrived at 3pm.

Monday's going to be a bloody long day. Wish all LEAs could do it on the same day. I know the nursery knows already. I know dd's head knows. They won't engage in conversation with any parents atm for fear of letting it slip. Friends in the next county know. The decisions are made and just sitting there. But we have to wait days. It's ruddy frustrating.

isa953 · 16/04/2016 08:04

Huge congrats to those who got their first choices! Have been lurking, I'm in London so won't hear till late Monday ugh. First choice school had an admissions distance of over 3000 meters last year and we're 500 meters away. Should be fine but the school is growing in popularity all the time so I can't help feeling nervous. They take 90 pupils and 70 put it as their first choice last year. Also it's not our closest school and people keep saying me might get given our closest, I know that's not how it works but still feel worried. Ugh, feels like a long time to wait! Good luck to all those still waiting.

smellyboot · 16/04/2016 08:10

And Manchester emails are going out now too. Sibling place so I wasn't worried but still a relief

mogloveseggs · 16/04/2016 08:22

Ds got first choice. Dh logged in at midnight and it was online. good luck to everyone still waiting

Tarahbab84 · 16/04/2016 08:53

Dizzyingly ah there's no point checking online then. The kids start nursery at 10am on Monday I hope I know before we get there as all the parents will be talking about it

Tarahbab84 · 16/04/2016 08:53

Well done to all those who got their first choice

99percentchocolate · 16/04/2016 09:11

Got our first choice! So relieved.

magratsflyawayhair · 16/04/2016 09:20

I'm waiting on the post and just joined the thread in our local parenting page on Facebook. The council, in their wisdom, have scheduled work on their entire website this weekend so parents can't log in to the portal Angry

IwannabeKate · 16/04/2016 09:23

Congrats for all the first pref success! Just logged into ours again but it still says "results published here 18.04.16. We should be ok I think, first pref is 0.3k in the lovely 'good' rated school where DS is very happily settled at nursery this year, but can't shake the nerves that a lot of his classmates are younger siblings. Pref 2 seems a nice school too, only 0.6k but a massive 4 form intake so almost guaranteed to get in there, wouldn't be a disaster by any means but I really want to give DS some continuity as he take a while to settle in and now really loves it and has great friends. Good luck to all, especially those of you in some of the trickier areas.

Tarahbab84 · 16/04/2016 09:25

2 days to go. 2 days to go. Oh my goodness 2 days to go. Not long now peeps.

alien11 · 16/04/2016 09:32

Sounds like alot of you are getting first place!!

Pengweng · 16/04/2016 09:33

We just got our letters in post too. Weird time so i think it must have been a special delivery.

ShelaghTurner · 16/04/2016 09:35

Well done to everyone who got what they wanted. Waiting for Monday here too. It's cruel I tell you! It's going to be a long weekend...

TitaniumSpider · 16/04/2016 09:45

We got the school we wanted, not sure how I feel about it now because yesterday they announced that they were joining a pre-existing multi-academy trust.

MrGrumpy01 · 16/04/2016 09:54

I got my email at 6am. First and only preference.

(I have older children, live very close and it is not over subscribed)

Still good to have it confirmed.

Hope Monday comes round soon for those still waiting.

drspouse · 16/04/2016 10:31

Didn't get our first choice. Don't really like our second choice.. Getting the email just confirmed this as I didn't think "oh he'll like being with his friends" I thought "oh he'll be so overwhelmed and they will just say were being PFB if we object to them doing inappropriate activities for adopted children ".

We're going on the waiting list for no 1 and will appeal unless we're about 2nd on the list. May need to get the MP on board. Definitely need to ring our social worker on Monday.
Just a waste of everyone's time.

Off to start a waiting list and appeals thread. Hopefully mainly short waiting list people!

Zoeq fancy joining me? Anyone else?

Been lurking on here too today. After finding out there isn't enough places in my borough this year I have stressed all year as he is only child but got first choice.

hazelnutlatte · 16/04/2016 11:02

Read the whole thread whilst feeding baby dd2 last night, it's got me feeling very anxious about dd1's school placement! Friends in neighbouring county have already found out, I know 2 people already who didn't get any of their choices! We have to wait until Monday and I'm worried as we put 5 choices (our 5 nearest schools) and there is a reasonable chance we won't get any of them!
First choice is our nearest school, only 0.3 miles away but a high sibling year and very very oversubscribed, plus the fact we are close won't help as they allocate non sibling places by lottery!
All other schools are more than a mile away. Based on last years data we would have not got into two of them, got into one by 0.1 of a mile, and easily got into one but they had a bulge class and have no room for another this year.
We are assuming that one school will need to add a bulge class this year too, there has been a lot of new house building in the area with no increase in school places.

Tarahbab84 · 16/04/2016 11:08

Oh dear Drspouse. All is not lost though it's early days. A friend of mine won an appeal, well her mom did. It was also a bit complicated like yours is re adoption etc. Basically my friends daughter got into a school. Her mom has adopted my friends sisters child (so her daughters child) as her sister wasn't able to look after the child but the adopted child didn't get into the same school as her cousin (even though they live one street apart) anyway they went to the appeal meeting and they said that because the child is adopted and not LAC that she isn't really entitled to a place but once my friends mom explained how due to the adopted child's rocky start in live etc etc it would be really unsettling for her not to be with her cousin etc etc and she won the appeal.
So don't give up hope you could well win an appeal if you can prove it would be detrimental to the child's well being not to be in your first choice
All the best
