Why shouldn't DCs go to the school where DH is Head?

I've nc'd for this as I don't want to out myself/DH/DCs before they even start their new school!
So, DH is starting a new job soon at a school a lot closer to home than his last one, our 2 DCs have always wanted to go to their dads school and he is quite happy for them to move.
The only thing I am a little concerned about is that other parents at the school might feel this is not really appropriate, also they may feel a little weird when it comes to birthday parties or inviting my DCs round to play. I have 2 friends with DCs already at this school and they say there is no school-gate mafia to worry about.
Has anybody any experience of this from either perspective? What can possibly go wrong?

My dc went to the school I taught at.I taught ds but not dd.They had no related problems and I know dd hopes her dc will go to the school where she is a teacher eventually.

Not uncommon at all in the independent sector where staff get a huge fee discount. A large number of teachers at ds's schools have their children as pupils. Would be more Hmm if they avoided having their children there tbh.

So far only awkward when your dc is going out/breaking up with the head's dc.

At my school, my head teacher has some grand-children in the school. In fact, I have one of hers in my Reception class. No big deal.

...or when your child has just kicked the Head's child in the shins, Ladymuck not that that happened to me, oh no

Primary? Might be OK. Secondary, I'd say not OK at all in our local school. Certainly a friend's daughter is suffering at the moment, but maybe that school has a lot of bitchy children who complain about favouritism.

I, and several colleagues, teach at the school where our children are/were. None of us have had any problems.

The current Head's own children went there. The Deputy's went there. It's very common in village schools and has not caused any problems.

I feel that it's a big plus for other parents if the staff send their own children there. The staff know what REALLY goes on, yet still send their own? Must be OK!
