I've tried a few different companies and I have said mynamelabel.co.uk are the best ones I've used for iron on. Stick on much of a muchness so far.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 05/08/2012 18:35

I've been wondering that too. Can I ask if you Use iron on labels, how easy are they pull off? x

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 05/08/2012 18:36

okay, cheers, good to know. do the stick on ones actually stick on? i'm dubious.

Well we tried to get one of an old scooter before we dumped it and failed miserably!!!!

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 05/08/2012 18:49

I bought a huge pack of sew on name tapes with DS1's name surname DS1's name
I sew them on over a few nights before term starts.. no issues at all, BUT I love sewing.

FalseStartered · 05/08/2012 18:50

by far the best and great for smugging about the playground Grin

lovely labels

Wink
RandomMess · 05/08/2012 18:53

NeverKnowling, wish I'd known that before dd started at boarding school...

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 05/08/2012 19:04

Personally I hate sewing so iron on for me it is thanks Smile

vodkaanddietirnbru · 05/08/2012 19:53

I use the easy2name fab and funky stick on and iron on labels. There is a mumsnet discount too

bigTillyMint · 05/08/2012 19:59

FalseStartered, I am still using the ones I ordered when DD started school 9 years ago, and she and DS have never (yet) lost an item of clothing Wink

FalseStartered · 05/08/2012 20:03

i got all PFDD and ordered ones with little pictures on as well as her name

made sure she knew what was her stuff even before she could read

bigTillyMint · 05/08/2012 20:15
Grin

I got dual-function labels with DDs name - Family name - DS's name on Wink

Snoopersparadise · 05/08/2012 20:21

I get the mynametags.co.uk and there is no way those suckers are coming off once you iron them on. I have tried!

The stick on ones are good too, you can order half/half. I get them with a little picture and my mobile number in small on them too.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 05/08/2012 20:27

yes, it's only because i now have dd2 in nursery that i am considering getting the labels... so i can get the meanie mother dd1 surname dd2 effect.

i love the idea of being the sort of person who would lovingly sew woven nametags into clothes, but i think the marker pen and the two-year delay give the lie to that one...

will look at all the places mentioned, thanks!

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 05/08/2012 20:34

so i've looked at mynametags... it looks like i can actually do dd1's name and surname on line one then dd2's name and surname on line two... am i being daft?

OP posts:
AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 05/08/2012 20:37

or...

dd1
mob no
dd2

I have just bought some off Ebay. 72 woven labels for about £4 inc postage.
Plus shoe and luchbox ones.

EmptyCrispPackets · 05/08/2012 20:42

I started a thread on this a few weeks ago, really useful. Will link it.

Mine came less than 48hours after ordering. They were the same ones I'd used before so I've washed on 30degree wash and put bottles through dishwasher so they've held well. Hang on I'll find thread...

Abra1d · 05/08/2012 20:42

Stitch-on name labels are the only ones worth bothering with. We have lost very little over my children's (going into year 11 and year 9 respectively) school careers because everything has stitched-in name labels.

Yes, it's a pain to do it. But it's worth it.

EmptyCrispPackets · 05/08/2012 20:50

label thread

I used my name tags in the end.

PodiumOfWinners · 05/08/2012 22:30

'Fraid it's a Sharpie all the way here Grin

Tho can I just say it's nice to see you around Aitch, haven't seen you knocking around the boards recently.

numbum · 06/08/2012 15:51

I'm the ultimate lazy parent and just put their surnames in laundry pen on the labels Blush

Indith · 06/08/2012 15:54

I give you stamptastic. No sewing, ironing or anything else adn you can use the stamp on flipping well everything, they are brilliant!

NoComet · 07/08/2012 10:45

Teen DD1 makes me fold the twee flower in on her labels.

She gets biro!

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 07/08/2012 12:43

cheers, podium, my poor wee mum isn't v well, am rather distracted.
the stamps are good, but THIRTY quid for the two kids.... plus my children would find them and stamp their bunkbeds, i guarantee it. and then i would kill them and then that would be £30 down the drain. Grin
