Some really amazing award, such as high standard certificate, trophies from competition, medal, etc.

Parents, would you allow your DC to take them to school?
Teachers, how would you react and what would you do?

Last school letter is full of teachers coming and going and school building work

Ummm, that'll be what school letters generally consist of. That and term dates, upcoming jumble sales and the like Confused

OP, you seem determined to take offence. It's a bit odd.

I can never find any ridiculous reason Mrs did this on purpose. However, she didn't take her chances to explain is hard to understand, but I forgave her.

If I did something wrong accidently,I will come to the person to explain, offer a solution.

That's my little opinion and discipline.

Anyway, this story is coming to 'The end' part.

Does the teacher actually know she did anything wrong?

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 13/07/2012 12:17

Exactly, seeker. I bet she doesn't have a clue that she's caused so much angst!

Unless the OP goes in EVERY week with certificates and expects special editions of the school newsletter to be issued to celebrate them. In which case she might be a bit tired of it.

I think it is very important that achievement outside school is shared, it can also help teachers see children in a different way. You could have a child who is quiet and below average at school but is achieving/ competing at a National level outside school and the skills the child uses elsewhere can be built upon within school.

Talking about interests/achievements from outside school in assemblies can also inspire younger children to follow in their footsteps. One of the most fascinating days I visited at a school once was where children wrote a project about their hobby/pet/sport and each child presented it on a table at an open afternoon including props. (read.... sheep!!, hamsters, skis, bicycles etc).
