Basically I'm on benefits My twins have a trip totalling £26 and my older boy has a week trip costing £256...I can pay the deposit BUT where the hell do I get the rest from?? I have just about got the £76 to pay in the morning but there is no way I can get £200 for the full price. This is a foundation school so I have to see the head to ask for help with funding. Hate to feel like a beggar...how do I go about it?? There is no way I can fund the full amount ( I have paid in full for every other trip they have had) dreading dealing with the head as I just can't stretch to this. Your thought's please...

So maybe the comunication from the school needs improving as they never seem to organise things like set out in the DCSF cuidance for Governors Link above.
They usually give around three weeks notice for trips which is such a short time , the school funds useage and income are never seen by parents but can these be asked for by parents.
Money for the trips is usually wanted one - two weeks before the trip so as you see they usually allow one week for the parents to find the money.
As it says in the guide the school should be informing parents of how the cost is broken down and what funding from the school has been used to get to this figure , this never happens!
Maybe the Governors need to read the guide and adjust the policies accordingly.
