How tall is your 12/13yo?

My dd was 12 in May and has always been super tall. She won't let me measure her but she's taller than me now, so I'm guessing 5'6-5'7. She's defo taller than all her friends (and hates it). We know she's near enough stopped growing (needed spinal surgery so loads of X-rays).

How tall is your 12/13yo?

Dd1 is 11.5 and is just overtaking me at 5"5 with her new school shoes.
Just hitting puberty so expecting another 12-18 months of growth. Loves netball so hopefully she'll still be taller than her peers!

My son is 12 and 5 foot 7 inches

Oh and size 9 men's shoes

My dd is 13 in November nearly 5ft4 and size 7 in shoes

Ds1 is 13 and 5ft9 with size 9.5 feet. He’s grown 5 inches in the last year 🤯

In contrast DD had her spine fused when she was 14 and she’s 5ft4 and won’t grow anymore as a result. She gained 2 inches in height after her surgery though.

I’m 5ft4 and DH is 6ft1.

Gosh spinal fusion sounds serious hope all ok.

Our issue is the tall 13 year old looks like an 16 year old supermodel. Already issues of street harassment and grown men chatting her up with me standing right there 🤮.

This makes for interesting reading. DD is 9 and 5 foot so I wonder how tall she’ll be. I’m 5’6 and DH is 6’4.

I was 5 ft 8 at 13 and that was 45 years ago…

My Dd is 12 and is 175cm (5ft 9). She is taller than me and taller than her 18 year old brother. She is finding it difficult to find shoes too as she takes 8 1/2. I must admit I'm a bit worried as she really doesn't want to be much taller!

Yes, that's another problem - not helped by the fact that it's so hard to find clothes that are small enough at the waist but not super skinny.

@MsTSwift she had it due to a scoliosis curve she developed ironically though a big growth spurt! She was 5'4 pre op and hasn't been measured again yet as only 12 days ago but I think 5'6 now though been told that's it for height growth now. Her spine won't grow anymore, she potentially has a cm or two left in her (already giraffe) legs.

Just weighed her though, 5'6 and 6st 12lbs she's sooo skinny.

5”2 or 3, size 7 feet

My 12 yo DS2 is 5.5 and size 9 feet. He is bigger than all of his friends, but I have no doubt they will catch up! Neither DH or I are particularly tall at 5.6 and 5.11

Girl, 13y 5m is 5 foot 10 - growth is slowing though, so I don't know whether she'll get to 6foot (she is hoping to so she can give her height as 5 foot 12 like I tend to do, to see if anyone noticed)

I'm 6ft and DP is 6ft3. So we were expecting tall DC. My 10 year old is 5ft4 already

My DD has scoliosis so that’s why she had a spinal fusion, she has an S shaped curve so is fused from the bottom of her neck to the top of her pelvis.

We are 18 months post fusion, I was awful at the time but DD is an absolute star and she just got on with it.

Unfortunately you get that anyway, my 13yo is only 5 2 and barely wears makeup, casual clothes etc although she does have D cup boobs. Grown men are always shouting stuff at her, flirting with her etc, some men are just vile

Hi my dd is 12 and 5'6 as well and she has girl friends her height, so I think it is normal: The boys in comparison are often tiny though:

DS3 will be 13 in October and is taller than me, so about 5’6. His dad and both grandads are 6ft plus, so not unexpected.
