Pubic hair - 9 year old dd

I THINK I might have spotted a few very fine pubic hairs on my 9 year old dd. She hasn't noticed herself and I'm not going to draw any attention to them obviously.

She's had a bit of discharge for a while so I assume this means that puberty is well and truly on its way? This is within normal age limits I presume? She just seems so young.

Your poor dd user I knew puberty was happening earlier these days but I didn't realise how early. At least my dd won't be the only one.

amy actually she is a bit Sad She was always quite skinny as a toddler and younger child but developed a huge appetite. She doesn't look massively overweight but I weighed and measured her height a few months ago and was shocked to see her weight centile was a good bit higher than her height centile.

My DD also had early puberty. She was being monitored for being really short but they didn't recognise the significance of advanced bone age so they didn't treat her. Please ensure you have bone age checked for girls going through early puberty can stop growing before they get to normal adult stature.

I didn't even think about the bone thing. I haven't checked her height for a while but I think she is about 4'7" and seems to be taller than most of her peers.

DD developed her first tufts at 8, but I didn't draw attention to them. Me being a mum of minuscule knowledge in biology (oops!) I decided to cut the sprouting ones off, but I think this just caused them to grow thicker, wiry. It was a nightmare by 9 years old for her. She had grown a small forest - not just small, fine hairs.
This was also the last year her school allowed the children to go swimming for free, and as all of her friends had signed up, she decided she wanted to go too. I could feel how horrible I would be at the prospect of telling her no, so I gave in, and I gained knowledge that she joined the other girls at the running-around-naked blind man's buff in the changing rooms. She came home to me to ask what was the black stuff on her "here."

@vdbfamily was she embarrassed by having pubic hair or just armpit hair?....you said she had pubic hair but shaved her armpit hair out of embarrassment....so she did not get shy or embarrassed in front of friends having pubic hair and them not?

@5kidsandthecat how did you not draw attention to her pubic hairs if you went and cut them?...what did she think you were doing down there?, and then what do you mean by the whole free swimming story and running around naked with other girls, that was first time she realized her hair down there?...or that at her age it is not necessarily something that happens?
