Just that really? How much water do you plan for?

Oh we need a proper topic

ArmchairTraveller · 25/10/2015 19:54

Of course you will nbe Confused about why you need water. Until the moment when you do, My water store lives with the other emergency stuff in a cupboard.
If I need it, it's there. If I don't, then it's not wasted. Think of it like insurance. Smile

ArmchairTraveller · 25/10/2015 19:57

Pipes freeze, water mains burst, things get turned off and all you know about it is when you come home to a note through the letterbox.
We have alternative light sources in case of power cuts and can cook with either gas or electricity. At a pinch, we could bbq in the garden.
It's not paranoia. it's just being prepared for a challenging few days if necessary.

Nonnainglese · 25/10/2015 19:57

I honestly can't think why I would need to store any water.....or emergency stuff....
Am I missing the point totally or is Armageddon nigh and nobody's thought to tell us ?

ArmchairTraveller · 25/10/2015 20:00

You probably don't, it makes me feel better though. Like having a full store cupboard.

Right, so if pipes freeze then I guess water bowser will arrive like last time, cooker is dual fuel so no problem, camping gas cooker in shed, plenty of candles/matches/torches/batteries but that's just common sense......isn't it?

BertrandRussell · 25/10/2015 20:04

I have an unopened bottle of vodka [unhelpful emoticon]

ISpidersmanYouMeanPirate · 25/10/2015 20:11

I have a 20l bottle I keep meaning to fill.

About 10l of mineral water.

We live 20m from a river so we have water purification tablets and two filter straws just in case

FuckTheseSixFishInParticular · 25/10/2015 20:11

You would think so, Nonnainglese, but apparently not.

RattleAndRoll · 25/10/2015 20:11

Is this zombie apocalypse related?

Nonnainglese · 25/10/2015 20:15

Ok, no bowser but I have a stream within 150 yards, too many bottles of wine and if push comes to shove I'll impose myself on my friends or family highly unlikely so don't worry mum

ggirl · 25/10/2015 20:15

wtf ..why is everyone storing water??

O don't need extra clutter in my life..we'll dehydrate and save the space

futureme · 25/10/2015 20:23

I have asda over the road so nothing stored here!

Do we need water in case of Ebola?! Did I miss some warning...

scatterthenuns · 25/10/2015 20:51

I don't have the space to store water.

Redcrayons · 25/10/2015 20:57

I'm rolling my eyes at you all, whilst simultaneously wondering which cupboard I can clean out for bottles of water.

So, what else do I need for the apocalypse?

TimonAndPumbaa · 25/10/2015 21:04

If you fill a bottle from the tap how long will it keep? Does water go off?

Finallyonboard · 25/10/2015 21:11

Ummm... None! Should I have some?

MirandaWest · 25/10/2015 21:17

I am another person wondering what I've missed here

Caravanoflove · 25/10/2015 22:02

Red crayons- me too!
It all sounds bonkers, yet I don't like to miss out....

SealSong · 25/10/2015 22:18

Bizarre

PanicNotAtTheDisco · 25/10/2015 23:08

Oh dear. We really do need our own board, MNHQ.

What I'm wondering now is, all the people who are wandering confused into this water topic - what are you doing here anyway, are you anxious about ebola? Surely if you are, then you can sort of see why other disasters might be worth thinking about?

ajandjjmum · 25/10/2015 23:13

Who needs another topic for what? Another one here wondering what they've missed!

ChristinaParsons · 25/10/2015 23:15

I have a lot of alcohol in the cupboard under the stairs and a cupboard full of tinned stuff. Plus an open fire and a full log store! And in case of dire emergency chickens that we could spit roast. I might leave the bath full at all times tho just in case...

Wolfiefan · 25/10/2015 23:16

I don't need water. I have gin!
