Hi everyone hope your all well. I desperately need your support today as I have no one to help me or support me other than my partner. Yesterday I took the first termination pill mifepristone around 4pm and was feeling very nauseous apart from that nothing major than around 11pm when I went to lie down I felt so bloated and such extreme heartburn that I was tossing and turning all night my stomach felt heavy like there's a massive ball floating in there waiting to come out. I thought maybe the first tablets cut the hormone off so it's normal. However woke up in the morning with extreme morning sickness which sent me into a panick that maybe the first pill hasn't worked? I've also got stomach pains and I have to take the second lot of pills to start the contractions and expel the pregnancy and am really scared of the outcome

It's very emotional,
You could be right about the hormones. I've been a wreck since I found out I was pregnant a week ago. Haven't been able to think straight. Can't believe this is happening right now.

Before I had my children, I had two miscarriages and it then took us a while to conceive, and I was worried I would never have children, so this is not a decision I made lightly, as I know how much I wished I was pregnant for such a long time, and now I found myself in this situation, I'm full of regret for being in this position, and I know this experience will haunt me for a long time to come.

Nothing much happening here just the same butterfly feeling still. I'm going to take some more painkillers shortly to ensure I'm topped up.
How about you? Has anything progressed? Xxx

kingkax · 08/07/2022 21:03

Hi @Chickenwing2022 I was lying down cramping was so bad and now am sat on toilet waiting for something to pass. I can feel a horrible pain and pressure down there and am so scared it's like am almost holding back in. Bleeding is quite heavy aswell just topped up with painkillers and hot water bottle refill. Hopefully it won't be to long for yourself it took me 5 hours to get to this. Il keep u updated and thinking of you Flowers

Chickenwing2022 · 08/07/2022 21:52

@kingkax how are you doing?
Thinking of you, and hope you are coping okay.
I'm just about to take the extra two tablets as not much has happened here, just some light bleeding. This is going to be a long night I think 😕

kingkax · 08/07/2022 22:26

@Chickenwing2022 same nothing much has happened even after the extra 2 tablets I don't understand why it's taking so long. Just be prepared to shiver a bit and be colder than usual after taking those extra 2 tablets. A hot water bottle and a blanket the shivers won't last long or it depends how u take them. I took the last 2 on my cheek coz they suppose to work faster but unfortunately just alot of heavy bleeding not passed any clots yet. Has your bleeding started?

OP posts:
Chickenwing2022 · 08/07/2022 22:35

@kingkax yes my bleeding has started. Started lightly a couple of hours ago.
Have just had two large clots, but I don't think it was anything more than that. Just sat here on the toilet now.
Tablets have just finished dissolving...feel like bleeding has tailed off...but I know I can't be done.
So strange isn't it...This is a waiting game now....I'm going to stay up until midnight maybe and then try for some rest.
I didn't think it would take this long and I regret not getting things started earlier in the day...however, I thought maybe four hours would be enough, but at least my children are sleeping and will know nothing about this hopefully.
Sending hugs to you. Am here if you need me x

LOSTladyscarlett · 08/07/2022 22:38

I feel for you. I've literally just yesterday took my 4 pesserie tablets followed by another 2

Although I didn't feel what you're describing i felt what I would call labour pains I was in agony (and stupidly I went to work)

Anyways getting to the point. I was already starting to miscarry but the first tablet did not alot for me. But I believe that stops any more growth or whatever. The tablets you put up are the ones that expel the pregnancy. The nurse I saw told me that's when things start happening. So when I put the first 4 inside I got severe cramping like bad period pains. Then I put the following 2 up and that's when the contractions started and within 2 hours I had passed the majority.

Basically after waffling what I'm saying is don't worry if you get nothing from the first. Just continue to do the second and third stage. And don't go to work like I did.
If you're still unsure after the course is complete wait your 3 weeks and take your test if you still are then go back to whoever you got them from and hopefully they can help you further. It's a horrible process I can't lie but this site honestly helped me through more than I could tell you I've seen people say you can inbox them so if that's a thing feel free to message me again I'm sorry you're having to go through this x

kingkax · 08/07/2022 22:41

@Chickenwing2022 awwwwah atleast u past some clots so your nearly there. I haven't even passed one clot so far and it's worrying me. I keep sitting on toilet but just loads of blood nothing else. Hopefully we done by midnight and we can finally wake up with no morning sickness and just relax on the weekend. I feel like most of my pregnancy symptoms have disappeared and I've finally been eating my favourite snacks without being sick so that's a good sign the tablets are working. Think just need hang in there a bit longer to see if any clots come out. Thanks for your support sending lots of hugs your wayFlowersAm also here if u need me xxx

Over 10 years ago now presume the procedure hasn't changed. I felt mostly fine, some cramps. Then all of sudden was violently sick, had horrendous cramps and then passed the pregnancy. This was all in the bathroom thankfully.
Wasn't nice but doable and was the right choice at the time.

Hope you're okay x

Chickenwing2022 · 08/07/2022 22:45

@LOSTladyscarlett thanks for posting and for sharing your experience.
Looking at this thread is getting me through tonight.
I have been taking paracetamol and ibuprofen alternatively so I think I'm well dosed up and not feeling much at all.
I did have a missed miscarriage several years ago, and I still remember the painful feeling and the cramps from that, and I don't feel like I've had that yet.
My second dose has just been totally absorbed now so maybe within the next two hours it will progress a little more.
I don't want this to continue into the morning if possible 😔

kingkax · 08/07/2022 22:47

@middleofthelittle I've had cramps since 8pm and still nothing. Just hoping I can quickly get over this. I think it's still the same medical procedure taking tablets to start contracting than pregnancies passes. Thanks for your support Flowers

middleofthelittle · 08/07/2022 22:51

@kingkax
If I remember rightly I had the tablets about 5pm, and it was about 11pm when it was mainly over. That night I got up twice to change my pads as I was bleeding heavily.
I slept on a towel as ridiculous as it sounds I initially couldn't sleep over worrying about the mattress. Completely didn't matter but think I was just avoiding the emotional issue.
Following that night it was just like a heavy period.

Be kind to yourself and hope you've got some support at home too x

Just remember you'll be okay. If you're really worried phone 111 or whoever your clinic is (mine was bupas) although the original nurse was awful the others were incredibly suppprtive.

It feels like it will last forever. But once it's passed you'll find the pain will gradually slow. I was petrified. These women on here are so good and supportive.

I found a hot water bottle on my belly helped a lot (and lots of chocolate) x

kingkax · 08/07/2022 23:05

@Chickenwing2022 I've had one clot pass out so far so think maybe from here things will start progressing. Hope your doing ok xx

OP posts:
Chickenwing2022 · 08/07/2022 23:11

@kingkax ahh that's encouraging, sounds like things are starting to work for you. What a relief, you start to worry it's not going to get going....
Was it quite a big one? I had a big one and then a smaller one and that was it really.
And I'm back to nothing happening, not even much bleeding...
Might waddle myself back to bed, as the toilet seat has become very uncomfortable and I have the shivers you described so want to wrap myself up warm.
Will stay awake, but lying down for half an hour wrapped up cosy sounds good to me right now. I feel achy down there so I know it's not over.
Keep me posted how you're doing xxx

kingkax · 08/07/2022 23:17

@Chickenwing2022 it was a small jelly one I didn't look just flushed it away but did feel it come out. Think am gonna try and lie down aswell. As you said sitting on toilet is becoming uncomfortable and am feeling back pains after passing that clot. Il keep you updated hopefully it's over soon for both of us. U get some rest and am here if u need me xxx

Chickenwing2022 · 09/07/2022 08:41

@kingkax how has your night been?
Do you think you have passed the pregnancy? Hope you got some rest.

I'm really confused. I went to bed like I said, as the cramps died down, I haven't needed any more painkillers.
I don't know if it has worked?
I'm still bleeding, but I only had those first two clots so I'm unsure if it's worked.
Feeling a bit stressed out by all this...

kingkax · 09/07/2022 09:23

@Chickenwing2022 hi my night has been running back and forth from bathroom and I only passed one clot aswell which is stressing me aswell, I did read online that it can take up to 2 days for everything to clear out your system, It's like the first time in weeks I've not had morning sickness so that's a good sign. Has your pregnancy symptoms disappeared?

OP posts:
kingkax · 09/07/2022 09:27

@Chickenwing2022 did u have a scan before the pills were given? I think we might have been really early as they add 2 weeks on its counted from the first day of your last period. So 7 weeks means 5 weeks really

OP posts:
Tataru · 09/07/2022 09:42

I only had two proper clots with my termination, one of which must have been the pregnancy itself.

Chickenwing2022 · 09/07/2022 09:52

@kingkax
No I didn't have a scan as I knew my last period and I had no pain so they agreed it would be low risk. Did you have a scan?
They are due to call me on Tuesday afternoon next week to check how it went and I will let them know that I'm not too sure it has worked, and see what they suggest. Maybe they will offer a scan to see what's happening in there.
I didn't actually have many symptoms, except a growing tummy, feeling sick on and off (usually afternoons) but not all the time, and tender boobs. I will see how u feel today. I hoped it has worked and this doesn't mean I need more treatment, as I just want to move on.
Yes, maybe because we were quite early along it wasn't as severe as we were thinking, it just seems like a normal period to me.
I thought I would be out of action today, but I feel okay, up and about so will try and take it easy this weekend and see what happens by Tuesday when they call me.
Do you have a follow up appointment too?
Glad you are okay though, maybe we were both lucky that it was quite straightforward? Xx

Chickenwing2022 · 09/07/2022 09:54

@Tataru oh really, that is reassuring!
I feel like it has been too easy, no pains, not much blood and just two clots. Hopefully it has been successful, I think I've been reading too many threads on here, working myself up. Perhaps I was just blessed to have it go okay. Thank you for your support xxx

kingkax · 09/07/2022 10:58

@Chickenwing2022 I've still got a slight pain on my right side of tummy just under my ribs maybe it's just going to take time to heal. I didn't have a scan either plus I had to use the online mSI reproductive choices abortion clinic and it was all on the phone than medication posted out to me. Think il ring my gp on Monday see if I could get a follow up appointment with a nurse, but I think we over the worst and the pain wasn't to bad think we were just over panicking. Just watch out for some more clots today as it can happen and it's quite normal and plenty of rest and hopefully we both back on our feet soon ready for summer Smile

OP posts:
Chickenwing2022 · 09/07/2022 11:30

@kingkax yes mine was done over the phone too, I did a self refer to the local NHS abortion service. It was all done via video call and then the tablets posted but she has said they will follow up with me on Tuesday. And I have the test to take in 3 weeks time too.

The pain in your side is maybe your body re-adjusting after the cramping.
Yes, i'm a little afraid of going too far this weekend in case I have large clots or something, would rather be close to my own bathroom.
I'm due to work on Monday so I hope I'm okay for then.
Be glad when this chapter is closed and we can both look forward to a chilled summer with the kids.

Chickenwing2022 · 12/07/2022 08:58

Hi @kingkax
How have you been over the past few days?
I've not passed any further clots but just feels like a normal period now.
Pregnancy symptoms are starting to fade away too.
I'm due to speak to the clinic today.
Hope you are okay 💐 x
