I was hoping someone could help, I’m 20 years old and found out two days ago that I had gotten pregnant whilst taking the contraceptive pill religiously, I took a second clear blue test which stated 1-2 weeks, I’ve made the decision to have a termination as I am not in the right financial situation to bring a child into the world, I contacted msi and they have booked me in for my first phone consultation on Wednesday night, which will be 7 days after finding out I was pregnant, I’m panicking as I’ve read the process can take long before getting the medication, I was wondering if anyone could help me and offer any support of this has happend to them before x

@Nik84 thanks for that lovely , I think it’s cruel making you have a scan but I guess they have to be able to tell , I’m pretty sure I am super early in my pregnancy so I’m worried they may not even be able to pick it up on the scan but the lady was adiment I’d need a scan to make sure I wasn’t over the 10 weeks x

@Pink1314 honestly she was lovely when I had mine done. If your super early don’t go to the loo before hand, I nearly did but I didn’t want to miss my name being called. Good job I didn’t as she could do it on outside rather than an internal. She had the screen turned away I could only hear the print outs, she put them in an envelope and I couldn’t see them. She said it was a very tiny pregnancy which also made me relieved that’s all I knew about it.

@SEJ1789 ahh right I think I’m just panicking that’s I’m so early they won’t be able to see but I guess they wouldn’t send me for a scan if they couldn’t xx thank you for putting my mind at ease xx

Don’t worry, they will be able to see that you are pregnant. They’re just making sure you’re not too far along, which you know you’re not x

@Pinkgirl12 I went though a medical abortion 7 years ago. I'm from Northern Ireland so it wasn't easy then. Honestly please don't worry. I took the first pill then 2 hours later all pregnancy symptoms stopped so suddenly. No other side effects. The misoprostol tablets bring on the cramping and bleeding not much worse than a heavy period but I was only 6 weeks. I took all the tablets at home, I hear so many horror stories and I was so scared but it was totally fine xx

I'm having to wait 2 weeks after my phone consultation for my termination. I'll be 9 weeks by the time this happens. Over all 3 weeks in total I've waited.

Only 10 days to go. Not funny when you want it over and done with but I've accepted I have to wait. I hope you're okay. I found this website to have some amazing friendly and supportive people on it xx

@LOSTladyscarlett I was just reading your situation on another thread. I’m so sorry you’re having to wait so long. Will you still be able to have the medical termination and have you found childcare?

It's mental. But now down to 7 days to go. This week will be an agonising wait.

I'm still trying to sort childcare im hoping I can't but if not there is nothing I can do I'll have to take my son with me.

They said I can still take the pills when the my nurse phoned me Friday. Just hoping it works. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hi All, I’m really hoping someone can put my mind at ease, I took the 2nd set of tablets at 17:50 this evening and then the third set at 20:50 and I’ve got shivers, temp but no cramping or bleeding, has anyone been through something similar? I feel like this isn’t going to work 😢😢😢 I’m 5 weeks 1 day. X

I'm so sorry for anyone that is going through this. I found out exactly 3 weeks ago that I'm pregnant and booked in for a surgical abortion on Tuesday. I'm absolutely petrified, I am going alone, as no one is available to come with me.( I have a friend collecting me to take me home though) I can't help but worry that I'll be judged for being so emotional when I arrive there. X

scaredandanxious01 · 17/07/2022 13:09

@Adviseplease30 how are things going for you now? I hope things have started moving. If not can you call your provider to advise?

@2823anxious I’m so sorry you are going this. You absolutely won’t be judged for being emotional. Women will turn up for their procedure in all sorts of emotional conditions and the staff will be used to it all. I had a medical termination so no direct experience but from what I’ve read on here those who have had survivals have received nothing but supportive comfort and care from the nurses. I’m glad you have a friend going to collect you x

2823anxious · 17/07/2022 13:26

@scaredandanxious01 thank you for your reply, it has really reassured me that I won't receive any judgement when i arrive there. Like the majority of women will experience, this has been such a difficult decision for me to make. I have two children already and unfortunately due to numerous aspects, this is the right decision for me to make. Absolutely heartbroken.
Thinking of you all xx
