6 weeks medical termination today

Hi all,

Is there any other girls out there that have had a medical termination today and want to talk about it together?

I was 6 weeks, went in this morning and had the first tablet.

I have a 6 month old baby who was planned and currently in the process of moving to a bigger house. We believed it was just not the right time for us and were stunned to have been in this position so soon considering how careful we were. I have found it so hard to make this decision over the last 3 weeks but felt it was for the best for our family.

I’m doing well today, lost night was awful, I was in quite a lot of pain and I was sick, and was bleeding quite a bit, I just hope everything has gone okay and everything has left! I finally went to bed at around 5am this morning and conked out for a good few hours. I’m bleeding today but I’m up and about, as I feel better too. How are you doing? Look after yourself today and have whatever you want as a treat x Flowers

@MoonCat77 I also have my consultation on Thursday and hoping the pills arrive asap after, to hopefully get the hardest bit over before Christmas. I also have children already too

FirstTM2020 · 14/12/2020 10:47

@changingagain1 its such a shitty situation isn't it. I have a 6 month old baby too and it just was not practical at this time. Such a hard decision for us but this was for the best xx

@FirstTM2020 I have 3 who are 5 and under and honestly I just can't do it again 😕 I barely made it mental health wise after my last child. And it's a new relationship too. I haven't told a soul. And I don't think I will either. Just want to forget about it afterwards and easier if only I know.

I've also been stressing all morning about how long the pills will take to arrive. Do they come by royal mail? I know there are delays currently due to covid and black Friday. And then Christmas too.

I called BPAS on the 7th last week but I still don't have my consultation till Thursday. I wish it could have been sooner.

EmmaJane247 · 14/12/2020 13:29

@FirstTM2020 I’m doing good, I’m currently back at work, only doing the minimal today, have bad back ache still though but slept through the whole night last night! Must’ve needed it. @Changingagain1 i got my tablets on Wednesday, took the first one Friday then the second one Saturday night. The worst was over by Sunday morning 4am so if you get them before this weekend you’ll be fine for Christmas. That was also my biggest worry too ❤️ X

Changingagain1 · 14/12/2020 13:41

@EmmaJane247 Glad you are doing better now 😊 do you mind if I ask how long it took for your tablets to arrive from your telephone consultation? Thanks

EmmaJane247 · 14/12/2020 13:55

Unfortunately I went into the centre as I had to have a scan due to some pain to make sure it wasn’t ectopic maybe try and get that done if you can? Get in for a scan so they can give you the tablets to take home that day. I’m so sorry your going through this, I want to make sure I’m there for someone like everyone else was for me so any questions fly them this way! Xx

Changingagain1 · 14/12/2020 13:59

Thanks so much for your help so far!! I am actually having weird pains in my stomach today. Just midly uncomfortable but sharp. How do you organise a scan with the centre? Was it via BPAS? Xx

MoonCat77 · 14/12/2020 15:50

@Changingagain1 sorry to hear you’re in a similar situation. It’s just horrible. Let me know how your consultation goes on Thursday. Xx

FirstTM2020 · 14/12/2020 21:01

@changingagain1 i was through nhs and had a scan and they give you the tablets there and then so didn't have to wait.

Sorry your going through this. Im 3 days after second set of tablets and feeling a lot better apart from back ache and period like cramps.

Xx

Hi everyone, I've just had my phone consultation. It was over within about 20 mins and it's just a waiting game for the pills to be sent out now. Just hope I'm not waiting too ages. I asked if I could go pick them up but they said there's no collection appointments available till after Xmas so I'd receive the pills in the post sooner. So ideally I'll receive them in a day but at the most I guess I have less than a week left of this. X

Cakles2010 · 17/12/2020 14:21

Hi everyone

I had my consultation Tuesday and pills just arrived today. I'm not going to lie I feel so scared I'm not worried about pain just something going wrong. I feel ashamed to say I've been through this before when I was much younger but it was managed in hospital. I'm petrified of hemmoraging or even worse toxic shock 😞 I know the stats are so low but there's always that what if...did anyone else feel like this?

I'm taking first tablet tomorrow but I'm at work then planning to take the rest Saturday so I can spend the day in bed

Mine took two days so hopefully you should have yours by Saturday morning or at the latest Monday Thanks
Changingagain1 · 17/12/2020 14:50

@Cakles2010 thanks, fingers crossed for Saturday so I can get it done over the weekend.

I totally understand a bit of the "what if" fear. When you get told the stats you do think what if I could be that small number. But honestly chances are you will be completely fine and anything that goes wrong we have the NHS too. I have worried a bit myself just because I haven't told anyone what will be happening

Thank you you're right it's just them irrational thoughts take over! I've had a normal birth and did hemmorage with that so I'm pretty sure my stats of dying then were much higher than this. I just want it all over with now I feel terribly sick all day long, can only drink Diet Coke and eat stodgy food so I'm feeling pretty rough 😞

Hope you get your tablets soon and it's a quick process for you x

Changingagain1 · 19/12/2020 18:16

@Cakles2010 how are you? X

My pills arrived today. Was a bit emotional taking the first one as knew that was the moment of no turning back but I was sure still. I'm going to start it off tomorrow for when the kids are at their dads so I can hopefully rest. Only problem is I won't be able to take the codeine as I'm breastfeeding too. I hope it won't be too painful. I don't get painful periods or cramps so hope I might be saved some of the worst

Crazy86 · 19/12/2020 18:56

@Changingagain1 how are you feeling?

Changingagain1 · 19/12/2020 19:26

@Crazy86 I haven't had any symptoms from taking the first medicine. I just feel as usual. But I am a little nervous tomorrow 😕 couldn't get big maternity pads so I got those big incontinence knickers hoping they do the trick. Thanks for asking

Yellowcakestand · 31/12/2020 15:19

@FirstTM2020
I hope all is well. I've now had a positive test this morning so had to call them up and booked in for another scan on 12th Jan :(

Crazy86 · 01/01/2021 23:32

@Yellowcakestand I hope you’re ok.

I have to test tomorrow. I have a horrible feeling that I’m in the same boat as I still feel sick etc

Yellowcakestand · 02/01/2021 10:31

@crazy86
Hope you are okay this morning x

Crazy86 · 03/01/2021 10:35

Thanks @Yellowcakestand

I got a positive test this morning. I had a feeling it would happen. I’m just about to call them to see where I go from here. I need to pull myself together first.

Such a horrible situation to be in.

Crazy86 · 06/01/2021 11:10

@Yellowcakestand I hope you’re ok.

I’ve been for a scan this morning and I’m booked in for a surgical procedure tomorrow. The medication hasn’t worked and the pregnancy is still there.
