Lol, why don't you find out at your next scan if you are pregnant that is?

I don't like
Mary Megan (like the individual names but not the combination)
Dionne
Jordannah
Maycee
Judias

Lonelymum · 23/07/2005 16:32

How is Judias pronounced? And where does it come from? Sorry, it loks really like Judas and I don't know if anyone (who didn't know how it was pronounced) was say it differently.

fqueenzebra · 23/07/2005 16:33

sorry, "Jordannah" makes me feel ill....
I don't like Poppy because it sounds like a pet not a person (to me, sorry, I know it's very popular right now)
Rest are at least "ok" to my ears.

SoupDragon · 23/07/2005 16:34

Tegan isn't a made up. Can't remember whether its WElsh, Irish or Cornish now though!

Dahlia · 23/07/2005 16:35

I love :
Olivia Grace (my dd1 is Olivia)
Isobelle Grace (my dd2 is Isabel)
Eva Grace
And I love Mary but not Mary Megan
And I really love Jonah!!

spidermama · 23/07/2005 16:36

I don't like
Dionne, Jordannah or Maycee Grace. Judias Elliot comes a little too close to Judas Escariot for my money.

SoupDragon · 23/07/2005 16:36

Welsh apparently meaning something along the lines of fair/beautiful.

Lonelymum · 23/07/2005 16:39

Mary Megan Clarke sounds OK to me.

LollipopSweetie · 23/07/2005 16:45

is mary old fashioned tho? u dont get many babies called mary...grannies maybe?!

Janh · 23/07/2005 16:49

I know a lovely teenager called Mary.

And beetroot's DD is Mary (she is about 6 I think).

littlerach · 23/07/2005 16:51

Could you have Mary Grace?

Janh · 23/07/2005 16:53

That's a lovely combination and it makes her an MGC (twiglett's DD is an MGB, lol!)

QueenEagle · 23/07/2005 16:54

My dd has Mary as a middle name, as do I, my mum is Mary, my late grandma had it as a middle name, my dd has the same name in reverse as her great, great, great grandmother, Mary Suzannah, although dd shortend her name to just Zannah.

SecondhandRose · 23/07/2005 17:00

I have an Olivia and they're 10 a penny these days, in fact we have 3 in her year at school. I do like Poppy but wonder if it's a bit flimsy not really a city execs. name IYKWIM. Like Annabell and Anna. I wouldn't go with anything with a strange spelling or you'll have to spell it out to everyone you say it to.

spidermama · 23/07/2005 17:01

Whatever name you choose as a general rule of thumb it must work on the stage and in the boardroom.

tortoiseshell · 23/07/2005 17:35

Like

Olivia Grace
Isobelle Grace
Poppy
Eva Grace

What about Megan Grace or Mary Grace?

Jacob Thomas
Josiah Elliot

Miaou · 23/07/2005 18:38

I like Olivia Grace (but very popular just now)
Annabell Grace (but would spell it Annabel or Annabelle)
Jasmine

Isaac Thomas

(not good with boys names!)

I don't like Judias but what about Jude?

bubbaloo · 23/07/2005 19:43

like poppy and jasmine.

poppy was on our list but we had a boy instead and i like jasmine-my cats name.

bobbybob · 23/07/2005 19:45

Not keen on Dionne & Maycee Grace (too pop starry),

Jordannah (can you spell it? 10 times a day for rest of life)

Judias (too close to Judas)

Josiah (too Charles Dickens)

Love the others though and you did ask.

Windermere · 23/07/2005 19:46

My two favourites are Eva and Josiah. Hope I don't offend anyone but I'm not keen on Mary, Dionne, Jasmine, Jordannah, Maycee and Judias.

bobbybob · 23/07/2005 19:47

Wow Spider mama, I hadn't read the thread, but we agree - I must be an earth mother too

emily05 · 23/07/2005 19:48

LOVE Olivia Grace and Jasmine, Eva
DONT LIKE Maycee Grace, Dionne

LOVE Jacob, Isacc and Thomas
DONT LIKE Judias, Jonah

Ellbell · 23/07/2005 20:41

I love the name Grace, so anything with Grace in is good for me! (In the very unlikely event of me having another baby and it being a girl, Grace would definitely feature!) Of your choices, I like it especially with Olivia, Isobelle and Eva. I also like the name Mary. I have an Auntie Mary whose middle name is Nora (or Norah... have never seen it written down). In fact, I had two great aunts (same branch of the family) whose names were Nora(h)and Grace, and I quite like the combination Norah Grace. However... I am wandering off your list, sorry! I don't particularly like Dionne, Jordannah and Maycee, but I am fairly conservative when it comes to names.

I like all your boys' names except Judias. I think the connotations of Jonah would bother me a bit. I love Josiah, partly because I am a big fan of The West Wing. There (in case you're not a fan) it's shortened to 'Jed' (which is odd, because I always thought that Ged/Jed was short for Gerald (!) or possibly Jedidiah.
