... as have mc a number of times, 4 before 6 weeks, so am not believing I'm pregnant until I get past 6 weeks.

Not sure how long I will hold out for, but thought I'd try.

Feels a bit weird posting in pregnancy, as don't feel it/believe it.

Just wanted to share my news with someone.

Aaah, Rainbowdays, I'm really really glad to hear from you. I used to be Twiglettini, so we 'met' on the TTC#4 thread early last year. We had a difficult year too and I struggled with all the lasting BFPs on that thread, (though the people were lovely ). I so hope a new year and new BFPs are good news for both of us. Isn't it weird/sad how parallel the last conception year has been for us.

Have you been to a recurrent mc clinic?

Best of luck and huge hopefulness for us all

x

Heigh - I remember you! So glad to hear from you. I have been to the recurrent mc clinic, had all the blood tests - all normal, although they have told me to take asprin anyway. I also went to a private clinic re: recurrent miscarriage, and have some meds to take, but not started them as I was ill when I should have started them, and decided to wait! However I also have a prescription for progesterone that I am supposed to start taking from bfp - typical that all the chemists are closed today locally, but I will be hunting out the chemist tomorrow.

Have you been for testing?

I hope we have a better year this year.

HeighHoHoHo · 01/01/2010 17:25

yes, also been to the clinic and had clotting test and scan of uterus in Oct, but still not had results, though have 'phoned up and been told the letter is waiting to be typed.

The consultant I saw thought my miscarriages were just bad luck, so didn't prescribe anything. I sort of wanted a prescription for progesterone as get breast pain during my cycle, which can be an indicator of low progesterone, but he didn't believe in aspirin or progesterone, so have just got to keep my fingers crossed.

Have been following the TTC #4 thread and 40+ TTC thread and noticed you weren't posting much, so it is nice to catch up with you.

Really, really hope it works out for both of us this time x

I hope you get your results soon. The only reason I got the progesterone was through the private clinic, but if they had not supplied it to me I would have got natural progesterone cream online, is that something you would consider doing?

If you want to email me my email is thingingoftrying at yahoo.co.uk. These next few weeks will be a bit exciting/on edge for us both.

HeighHo · 01/01/2010 20:08

Thanks Rainbow.

Got a general query for someone knowledgable... are sensitive nipples an early preg sign? Don't remember it from before, but they are ruddy sore at the mo

oopsandbabycoconut · 01/01/2010 20:11

HeighHo - mine felt like they were constantly like someone was poking them with hot pins and heaven help anyone or anything that touched them.

HeighHo · 01/01/2010 20:42

Thanks, Oops, was that in the early days of pregnancy, or later on?

oopsandbabycoconut · 01/01/2010 20:44

From about 3 days after I found out I was pg and still now at 19weeks!

largeginandtonic · 01/01/2010 20:54

Fingers crossed for you Heighho

My nippples were uber sensitive too. Good sign!

HeighHo · 01/01/2010 20:57

ooh thanks GandT and Oops, will take my sore nips as a very good sign. That's very reassuring. Am feeling vaguely nauseous on and off throughout the day, it's not enough to say it is morning sickness, but i like it

HeighHo · 01/01/2010 20:59

I SO want to get excited, but am so aware it could all go wrong any moment.

oopsandbabycoconut · 01/01/2010 21:10

Heigho - I was exactly the same haveing m/c too many times before. I refused to get excited but counted very day and treated myself to a little treat , choccie bar or something, everytime I passed a milestone where I had m/c before then DH and I went out to lunch after our first scan where we saw a HB, slowly time past and we are now counting down to our 20wk scan in 6 days.

Sending lost of sticky glue.

HeighHo · 01/01/2010 21:52

Oh Oops, what a lovely story. I'm so sorry for your miscarriages, but really pleased you've got to 19 weeks now. Can I be nosey and ask did you do anything different this time? Where you prescribed anything? It is lovely to hear from you x

HeighHo · 01/01/2010 21:58

Also, wanted to ask when did you have your first scan? and when did you first see the heartbeat?

Thanks x

AliBellandthe40jingles · 01/01/2010 21:59

HeighHoHoHo - please do try not to worry about the pains. I had terrible pains with DS, I was doubled over at some points and really thought something must be wrong. He is 17 months now

Fingers crossed for you

HeighHo · 01/01/2010 22:09

Thank you for telling me that, Ali, that's very reassuring. It's hard not to worry when they feel like period pains. Do you remember how long they went on for?

AliBellandthe40jingles · 01/01/2010 22:51

I got them in waves. The first lot were when I was 5/6 weeks, then I had more at around 8 weeks and more on and off until I was about 15/16 weeks IIRC.

The feeling sick is surely a good sign, but that can also come and go so don't panic if you have a day where you don't feel it

HeighHo · 01/01/2010 22:58

Thank you Ali. I'm 5 weeks (will be 6 on Monday, if I make it til then), so that fits with your experience. It's silly, isn't it, 'cos everyone is different, but it is still reassuring if things match with other people's experiences .

rainbowdays · 02/01/2010 07:57

heighho - my checklist at less than 4 weeks is - period pain, yes, swollen sore boobs, yes, not constipated TMI!, yes, gone off the idea of certain foods, yes..... my list goes on, and I have not even got far yet. It is so hard not to worry. But so far your symptoms sound good. I worry when my symptoms stop then come back with vengance, as that is how all my m/c's have gone, but gentle increasing symptoms for me are bliss!!!!

oppsandbabyc - thank you for posting a reassuring story, hope your 20 week scan goes well.

oopsandbabycoconut · 02/01/2010 09:02

Hi Heighho

We have done absolutely nothing different this time - it was a total surprise that I am PG we were not expecting it to happen as we were only sort of trying. I have terrible periodsy pains especially when my back and belly got cold. I had my first scan at 7 weeks and we saw a 2.4mm bean who was all heartbeat we then had a follow up scan at 9 and bubs had grown to alien shape then a nuchal at 12 weeks - it was a baby and a reassurance scan at 14 weeks. My sickness didn't kick in until 8 weeks then it was terrible and is easing now.

HeighHo · 02/01/2010 10:08

Wow, Rainbow, that's a lot of symptoms so early on - that's probably very good news.

And thanks Oopsandababycoconut, that's just lovely to hear it can happen after a number of miscarriages with no intervention.

I'm getting period type pains still that sometimes go down my legs as well. Poor DH looks very worried every time I tell him about the pain, so I have been reassuring him about all of you with your period pains in early preg and how this is normal

HeighHo · 02/01/2010 18:28

Answer to PandaEis from the other thread... They tested my urine for an infection and said was OK.

Yes, am very fortunate to have 3 DC, so you'd think I'd know what was going on. My history is DC, MC, DC, DC, then 5 more miscarriages, so I think the more recent sadnesses have wiped out all memory of what is normal at this stage of a pregnancy and made me ultra paranoid that something might go wrong.

oopsandbabycoconut · 02/01/2010 18:45

Heighho - the paranoia is perfectly normal - I still freak out every now and then when all my symptoms have gone. When I had no sickness or anything I was convinced I was going to m/c and when I spoke to the doc I happened to get Mrnobedsidemanerorunderstanding who basically told me to go home and stop being stupid and to come back if I bled for more than 24 hours but even then there was nothing he could do so I spoke to the MW who saw me early and arranged for me to be seen at the EPU, who were inturn fab and told me to pop in whenever I felt worried. I had 3 m/c DD then 2 very early m/c and now this DC.

Keeping fingers crossed for you.

HeighHo · 02/01/2010 18:48

Thanks, Oops, you are my inspiration that a baby can stick after lots of miscarriages. (Not joining any antenatal threads though yet )

oopsandbabycoconut · 02/01/2010 19:46

I haven't joined one yet either! maybe after my scan.
