I had a really rough pregnancy the first time round, and I was wondering if any 2nd (or more!) timers had the same again.

I am just writing about this - there's a good website if you don't know it which I expect you do.

flamesparrow · 27/06/2005 16:20

I'd be interested to know too...

madmarchhare · 27/06/2005 16:20

I think Ive read everything published!, how come youre writing about it?

I think prufock always suffered with it....

motherinferior · 27/06/2005 16:21

article for a baby mag. this is the site, but you'll know them.

motherinferior · 27/06/2005 16:22

No, she had obstetric cholestasis. Which I've just covered too

Fio2 · 27/06/2005 16:23

ohh i am always getting mixed up!

motherinferior · 27/06/2005 16:24

Shucks, I meant this lot

madmarchhare · 27/06/2005 16:24

Ah yes, I have seen it. Only thing is, some suggest 50% chance of reoccurance, yet M/W, GP etc say not [confused emotion]. I though a good bet would be asking people that have actually been through it .

You need my keen incisive journalistic brain, clearly, Fio

misdee · 27/06/2005 16:25

all 3 of mine. sorry.

motherinferior · 27/06/2005 16:25

I've been told it's pretty damn likely to have again, try the second link.

madmarchhare · 27/06/2005 16:26

Aaarrgghh!, even worse, the second one suggests 75% .

madmarchhare · 27/06/2005 16:26

misdee, how bad were you?

OP posts:
misdee · 27/06/2005 16:28

i was lucky if i had one sick free day a week. i was actually hospitalised with dd3, as my ketones levels dropped too much.

dd1 was toldf by very horrible gp, that al women were sick, get on with it.

dd2 was too worried about dh to see gp, just threw up constantly.

dd3, again sick several times a day.

Fio2 · 27/06/2005 16:29

I could do with your brain MI, would you like to swap?

misdee · 27/06/2005 16:30

i also lost weigth with all my pregnancies. at the end of it weighed less than beofre i fell pregnant. dd's weighed in at 6lb 15oz, 9lb and 7lb 14oz.

motherinferior · 27/06/2005 16:30

You would have to do a special exercise in Muddling Things and Dodging Work, Fio, and it's yours.

madmarchhare · 27/06/2005 16:32

I ended up in hospital three times, it was a nightmare. Im just so scared of doing it again.

Jockey · 27/06/2005 18:08

I don't have much luck with girls.

ds 1 - no sickness
dd 1 - sick sick sick!
ds 2 - no sickness
dd2 on the way - sick again!

spacecadet · 27/06/2005 20:15

im afraid ive had sickness with every single preg which gets worse with each one, last 3 pregs i had to admitted to hospital and put on a drip.

dramaqueen72 · 27/06/2005 20:41

ditto that, its got worse with each pg, awful awful time.

Moomin · 27/06/2005 20:45

1st preg was nauseous much of the first 5 months and lost weight because I couldn't face any food; 2nd time round was actually chucking up as well as feeling sick. Ended up in hosp and eventually got better at around 14/15 weeks.

I know another friend & fellow mumsnetter who was hospitalised for both and was pretty sick right up to the end, poor thing.

spacecadet · 27/06/2005 21:10

with dd2 the sickness never went away, until she was born!

madmarchhare · 28/06/2005 10:47

Doesnt look very promising really then does it? How did you all cope with the kids you had when you were so poorly when you were pg?
