Ok,ok i know it should be simple but its not!
this is a really hard choice now that driving and need more of a buggy to tick the boxes!
*Forward facing - can remove car seat to put on seperate system if needed - max 2 hrs!
*carrycot that goes on buggy nice and easy no fuss!

  • folds up small to fit in 7 seater volvo for family trips out!
  • long wearing, no huge wheels that need to be removed!

Ahhhhh am i asking to much! maybe i should design my own dont think it will be ready in time for my baby though!

combi of several buggys to make 1 perfect flawless buggy!

Am i alone, am i over thinking it, should i decide and stick to a choice and dont look back?

yeh i understand your points! this is suchh a drag.

What about 3d silvercross or the loola up?

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 17/12/2009 13:48

Not 3d silvercross - very heavy to push. Loola Up seems to get good reviews.

Mama2b5 · 18/12/2009 09:32

always looking forwards to your comments nappyaddict - silvercross i thought was quite light, so surprised about comment! im getting fed up now! i have so many other things to focus on and thought this would be quite simple!

my dd is getting the mothercare spin pram whith a car seat its lovely cant wait but not getting it till first week in april

CeeUnit · 18/12/2009 09:45

I paid £20 for a 1970s carriage pram and put a new mattress in. DS always looks so comfy and its lovely to push (got 'springy' suspension thingies). Water proof so no annoying rain covers. Lovely wire basket that holds loads of shopping.

Not sure if that style would fit in your boot is the only thing, but if you manage to drop lucky with a deal like I did (it can be done; one of my friends just got a similar pram from our local paper, equally cheap) you can afford to buy another 'foldy' one for the car - the luxury .

nappyaddict · 18/12/2009 12:15

The silvercross 3d is quite expensive as well for what it is. The loola up is a bit cheaper and also rear faces where as the 3d can only be rear facing until 6 months.

nappyaddict · 18/12/2009 12:16

CeeUnit Don't you need a raincover to stop the rain getting on your DS?

HinnyPet · 18/12/2009 12:25

Jane lie flat car seat. Jane powertrack pushchair. Attach lie flat car seat to pushchair using 2 red clips. When baby slightly older car seat can be tweaked so baby is raised up a bit / lot.

When baby is big enough remove car seat from pushchair and baby will face forwards in very comfy seat.

Stick lie flat car seat in loft ready for next baby

nappyaddict · 18/12/2009 13:00

But don't actually use lie flat car seat in the car www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWq6U77Jphc&NR=1

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 18/12/2009 13:04

holy crap nappyaddict that looks awful.

hettie · 18/12/2009 13:07

ok- you can get a lieght weight buggy that takes a carry cot... both the Maclaren XLR and the 2 types of Cybex light buggies that Mamas&Papas sell can take a carrycot attachement [http://www.johnlewis.com/230575162/Product.aspx?source=14798 here] and [http://www.mamasandpapas.com/range/cybex/3794/ here]. In addition the cybex has a car seat too. If you want a parent facing light option then the jane reverse is a good option [http://www.parentsupermarket.com/jane-reverse-pushchair-amazon-p-1534.html here] and also takes their car seat....

nappyaddict · 18/12/2009 13:16

Would DH compromise about the second hand thing? Just had a thought because I have both a Silvercross Dazzle and a Jane Aniversario for sale and you could get a brand new carry cot for either. The Jane Aniversario also has a car seat which you can buy to fit on it.

HinnyPet · 18/12/2009 13:21

thanks for that nappyaddict, now I feel really much better for having our two children in it.

nappyaddict · 18/12/2009 13:58

From your post I thought you only used it on the pushchair not in the car but wasn't sure if it was obvious so I that's why I commented on not using it in the car. Surely you'd rather know so you know not to use it for a third baby and have the oppurtunity to change it if possible?

This website is good for reviews on the most common pushchairs.

For a lightweight stroller you can't beat Maclaren XLR or Obaby (although the circles model doesn't steer very well)

HinnyPet · 18/12/2009 15:13

That youtube video is a carseat sitting up though? The Jane one I have lies down flat? Is it the same?
(I did use it mostly on our pushchair though)

geordieminx · 18/12/2009 15:20

There has been a lot of press coverage about the Jane lie flat car seat -it isnt safe. I'm saurprised they still make it.

nappyaddict · 18/12/2009 21:05

The current Jane lie flat car seat does sit up as well. The video shows it in the sitting up position which is meant to be safer than the lying down position. I dread to think what would happen in the lie flat position if that happens in the "safe" position.

Mama2b5 · 19/12/2009 11:25

i have know found myself looking back at the stokke! at this rate i think DH will just go and and buy one for i cant make mind up!
i think the car issue is so important and i have to think about car journeys and space in boot!

OP posts:
mistletoekisses · 19/12/2009 12:04

Ohhh, Stokke, Mama2be, go for it! You wont regret it, I love, love, love my stokke!!

Then get the macclaren umbrella and you are sorted!

mistletoekisses · 19/12/2009 12:05

Oh, and can highly recommend Backinaction for stokke products. Nearly everything is next day delivery through a courier company.

5inthesleighbed · 19/12/2009 12:15

Babystyle Oyster? Folds quite small, has the car seat/carrycot/seat combi you're after.

Bugaboo Bee, but they have no carrycot, however you can buy a babynest. Bit pricey.

Bebecar Streety? The chassis folds like an umbrella fold pram.

Mama2b5 · 19/12/2009 18:12

i need nappyaddict to agree so much good advice!

MK - my thread friend - i know the "Stokke" is the no.1 choice!!!
have you got the web details pls!!!!

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 19/12/2009 19:50

I believe the Stokke doesn't have a very good recline? I know the oyster doesn't (only 140 degrees). The Bebecar Streety is much heavier to push and tip up kerbs in rear facing mode over the Bugaboo Bee.

mistletoekisses · 19/12/2009 20:12

If you invest in the baby bag, then obv, that is totally flat for the baby.

The pushchair itself doesnt do lie flat because the chair part is fixed in chair shape. But the chair can lie totally horizontally allowing the bubs to sleep very comfortably. I think DS from memory went into the chair part at 4/5 months old.
(Does that all make sense?)

back in action

Mama2b5 · 19/12/2009 21:19

Thanks Nappyaddict, i think my DH is not goin to let go of the "stokke" but have spoken to family and have offered cash so we will not be paying at all for it! yehhhhhh
MK- yeh i remember something that baby could lay flat in so that is better, thanks for the web details leaving it open for DH when he gets in from filming! yehhhhhh
