I know it's probably unrelated, but what if it isn't?

I had the Pandermix yesterday (I'm 26 weeks) and I'm regretting it now...

most sensible thing I've read about SF on mumsnet so far.

I live in Portugal and although the loss of the babies is very tragic the reports from the hospitals and on the news here is that there is no proven link between the babies dying and the swine flu vaccine. Both pregnancys were marked as high risk and the first baby had already been in distress at another point in the pregnancy. Every year in Portugal around 344 babies are lost at around the 34 week mark. It is a horrid statistic but I only want to mention it to show that we cannot assume that the vaccine is to blame. Everything we do when pregnant carries some risk and we must just make decisions as to what to do as best we can.

I think that as we are all adults we can make up our own minds whether it's for or against having the jab. I've read lots of info for and against and im still undecided!

Tugamommy, thanks for posting the info, try not to stress yourself out over all the posts as i think we are all just a bit concerned about this blasted jab, some worry more than others. Im certainly worried about it.

Health alert from Dr. Russell Blaylock concerning swine flu

Dr. Russell Blaylock
(bio follows this alert)

24/7/09, Russell Blaylock wrote:

No one should take the swine flu vaccine- it is one of the most dangerous vaccines ever devised. It contains an immune adjuvant called squalene
(MF-59) which has been shown to cause severe autoimmune disorders such as MS, rheumatoid arthritis and Lupus. This is the vaccine adjuvant that is strongly linked to the Gulf War syndrome, which killed over 10,000 soldiers and caused a 200% increase in the fatal disease ALS (Lou Gehreg disease). This virus H1N1 kills by causing a "cytokine storm", which means that it cause the body's immune system to overreact and that is why it is killing young people and is a mild disease in the elderly. (The elderly have weakened immune systems.) This vaccine is a very powerful immune stimulator and carries the real possibility of making the lethality of the virus much greater.

One's best protection is vitamin D3. One should take 5000 IU a day now and when the disease begins to spread increase the dose to 15,000 IU a day. Vitamin D3 modulates the immune reaction, reducing the chance of an overreaction and stimulates the body to produce what are called antimicrobial peptides, which are powerful killers of viruses that does not involve immunity. This is dose related, which means the higher the dose of vitamin D3 the better the protection. Fish oils (the best is Carlson's Norwegian lemon flavoured fish oil) also reduce immune overreaction. One teaspoon a day should be sufficient. For severe symptoms, one teaspoon twice a day. Antioxidants of various kinds also help - this includes, quercetin, curcumin, grapeseed extract, vitamin C and natural vitamin E.

A good multivitamin/ mineral such as Extend Core www.vrp. com is also essential.

Feel free to spread this around. People need to know how to protect themselves.

During his residency he ran the neurology program for one year and did a fellowship in neurosurgery after his residency. For the past 25 years he has practiced neurosurgery in addition to having a nutritional practice. He recently retired from both practices to devote full time to nutritional studies and research.

During his residency training he worked with the eminent neurosurgeon, Dr. Ludwig Kempe.Together they developed the transcallosal removal of intraventricular tumours, which is still used today. Dr. Blaylock presented their cases utilizing this technique to the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. They also developed the ventriculolymphatic shunt in the treatment of hydrocephalus. In addition, they conducted neuroanatomical studies together with the aim of developing improved approaches in vascular intracranial surgery.

It was during his residency that Dr. Blaylock did much of the primary work on intraventricular monitoring of craniocerebral trauma patients, which was reported in the scientific literature. He also worked closely with Dr. Peter Jannetta during Dr. Jennetta's early research on vascular compression of the cranial nerves as a cause of trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm. Dr. Blaylock was one of the first neurosurgeons to utilize high-intensity nutritional supplementation in craniocerebral trauma patients, which met with great success.

Dr. Blaylock has written and illustrated three books. The first book was on the subject of excitotoxins (Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills) and how they are related to diseases of the nervous system. His second book,Health and Nutrition Secrets That Can Save Your Life, covers the common basis of all diseases, nutritional protection against diseases of aging, protection against heavy metal toxicity, the fluoride debate, pesticide and herbicide toxicity, excitotoxin update, the vaccine controversy, protection against heart attacks and strokes and contains a new chapter on omega-3 fats. This book has been newly revised as an oversized paperback. His third book,Natural Strategies for Cancer Patients, was released in April, 2003 and discusses the ways to defeat cancer, enhance the effectiveness of conventional treatments and prevent complications associated with these treatments. In addition, he has written and illustrated three chapters in medical textbooks, written a booklet on nutritional protection against biological terrorism and written and illustrated a booklet on multiple sclerosis. I don't understand why people get called scaremongering and conspiracy theorists for posting a link about a fact from a side effect in the jab???? It happened and just remember there are two sides to everything. The jab may be safe....to some! There will be some that will react to it differently than others. You just never know who and can never predict it either. I am 31wks pregnant and am like everyone in the same boat as me, do I take the jab or not?! Leave the poor girl alone. This thread is for people who want to hear both sides. Thank you tugamommy for posting it. I would have never have heard about it if you hadn't. It isn't hurting anyone by reading it, it just makes you think and want to understand more about it. Personally, a medical professional's opinion just isn't good enough for me. They get it wrong too. Its up to ourselves to know what is best for us and considering what we've been reading, whatever you decide is your choice and surely not a wrong one...jab or not!!

bangandthedirtisgone · 18/11/2009 21:06

"posting a link about a fact from a side effect in the jab"

And what fact is that? You make it sound as though these babies died as a side effect of the jab.

bangandthedirtisgone · 18/11/2009 21:08

I may as well have the jab then given that according to Blaylock I've already exposed myself to danger through fluoridated drinking water, fluoridated toothpaste, vaccines, dental amalgam, cholesterol drugs, pesticides, and aluminum cookware.

Blaylock makes my blood pressure rocket (surely more dangerous than swine flu?? )

Vitamin D3? FFS, he is as bad as people who wave a geranium at a bottle of water then swear a few drops will miraculously protect their offspring from measles.

Interesting report on BBC news 5 mins ago - basically pregnant women are 10 times as likely to develop severe complications from pig flu.

mommymeggie · 19/11/2009 02:07

bangandthedirtisgone-

I'm curious as to know how you would put it? A coincidence?

There will be side effects to these vaccines for some pregnat women and unfortunately it can effect the unborn babies.

bangandthedirtisgone · 19/11/2009 07:10

I would refer to the foetal deaths as having an unknown cause, as the information provided doesn't describe any conclusive link between the vaccine and the deaths.

I'm curious as to how you can be so sure the two were linked? Oh, that's right. You can't. It's pure speculation on your part.

behonest · 26/12/2009 21:08

It may be considered scaremongering by many but the internet is littered with reports of miscarriages after the vaccine in previousely healthy pregnacies. These reports like this one are from all over the World especially in the US. What a weird coincidence. We hate to think there is a connection but what if...

peppapighastakenovermylife · 26/12/2009 21:17

'but the internet is littered with reports of miscarriages after the vaccine in previousely healthy pregnacies'

Well yes because if you choose to have the vaccine you are unlikely to write a web page all about how you are fine afterwards.

Taking your argument then the web is also littered with stories of pregnant women who died from swine flu.

Anyone can post on the internet - and anyone certainly does!

Saying that, the risk of dying from swine flu is probably lower than many risks people face every day. Things have been hyped up (although seems to have gone very very quiet )

Risk is risk. You just have to decide what you think the biggest risk is for you. I would think it would be much better to base the evidence on scientific fact however.

Saying that I have no idea whether I will have it or not

So called scaremongering goes on for and against the Swine Flu vaccine, especially if it goes against readers own opinion! An individual has to their own research and calculate the risk themselves and there Family. Asking opinions will always deliver a very varied response depending on one's own experience and research. Just because you do or do not believe ones opinion it does not make it scaremongering it simply is what it is whether you agree or not. Facts are facts but that still does not make them absolute as it depends on the vast array of contributing factors, so can not be trusted. All, figures and comparisons are subjective and in my opinion statistics don't count for much as they are open to abuse to serve (on occasion) a purpose. So it is unto the individual.
