Hi all

I had a MC a few weeks ago. 3rd sept to be exact was when actual MC happen but started on the sun before (?30th Aug)

Had really conflicting advice about TTC again so decided to take my on course of action, what will be will be!

Then had a follow up scan on Sept 17th and sonographer said I was about to ovulate. Went on hol following day and didn't use contraception.
Still no AF although I know it can take longer after MC, And am light headed etc....

????Can't bring myself to test but bought 4?!
Also if its a BFP REALLY don't think I could tell ANYONE nt even DH too scared someone tell me I'm being completely stupid and of course would have to tell him......

Thank god for MN!!

any news cake?

blondieminx · 05/10/2009 11:07

Cake good luck and I hope you get the result you're hoping for

FWIW I found after my MC in March this year my cycle was a bit funny. There is a theory that you're hyper fertile after a MC (worked for me - currently 26wks pg after concieving at the end of April). If you do get a lovely BFP do come over and join us on the "Knicker Checkers - pregnancy after miscarriage" thread and we will hold your hand through those scary first 12 weeks....

CakeandFineWine · 05/10/2009 20:02

Hi all

I think I've got good news!!!!
So after a test EVERY day all BFP then this morning a very faint line.......

I'm going to stop peeing on those stick and keep my shiny new packet of clearblue digital until at least Thurs as this is how long I had to wait with my last 2 pregnancies.
For some reason Asda's own cheapy one's give me a faint positive about 3 days before CB digitals......

Fingers and everything else crossed.....

Hello

Just jumping on this thread if I may as I think I am in the same boat.
Have one of those whizzy clearblue things waiting until Sunday to test and it's driving me mad.
MC 13th Sept and started BD as soon as bleeding stopped only did it 3 times and have been anxious since. Last week was certain I was P all that rumbling stuff in the tummy and bloating (but was it just indegestion?) did a test and it was NO but it was v early. Now a week later I'm not so sure maybe it's in my head. Sunday would be 2 wks and if I'm not I will be so cross with myself for missing a month of trying. Was 100% certain last week - have had a few pregnancies so I can pick up the signs quite quickly but am wondering if it was residual MC. Don't know when AF is due so don't know when I'm overdue either.

I do feel a big fool as told DH and now he's watching me and I'll feel so stupid if it's NO again this week. I think I'll just go and stand in the corner with one of those pointy hats on.
Have you had any signs Cake and wine?

LittleOneMum · 06/10/2009 09:09

Cakeandfinewine - just wanted to let you know that I had a MC on 3 Aug and then went on to conceive about 3 weeks later, no AF at all in between. I'm now 8+1, so still early days, but it is definitely possible!! Was hard telling DH but his reaction was just "gosh, I am just so fertile!". best of luck!

roundabout1 · 06/10/2009 09:56

Can I join this thread too. Congrats cake on your bfp & good luck with the clearblue. I had a mc beg Sept. I got a bfp on fri but so paranoid that it may not be true. Still not told dp, I don't want to tell anyone as last time as soon as I told my close friend I started bleeding the next day. I'm just happy knowing that I'm preg in my own little world. I probably sound a little mad! How soon do you go the gp/midwife, with my dd I didn't realise I was pregnant til I was about 10 weeks so not sure what the "normal" way to do it is.

CakeandFineWine · 06/10/2009 18:48

Hi all,
Thanks for all your advice,
Still got the clearblue in my bag,
DH just got well arsey as I shut down window when he came past, going 2 have 2 fess up me thinks!
Yes got signs, weird feeling in my tummy like last time, REALLY bad skin, irritable and last night TMI ALERT leaky boob! WTF!
Well I'll be back!

OP posts:
Thisistheone · 06/10/2009 22:06

TMI I've had a twingy nipple just on one side this evening and a few gurgles in the tummy - only ever in the evening. Don't know how I'm going to wait until Sunday. One minute I'm sure I'm P the next I'm not.

Congrats Roundabout1 They can do dating scans from 6 weeks. Don't know about when to tell the GP. I'm not a big fan though they need to register you etc. I mc last time just a week after BFP so it's a hairy time. It would be too cruel to have 2 so close together though. Best of Luck

CakeandFineWine · 07/10/2009 20:09

I'm SO confused,
Cracked and did CB digital this am and....BFN?!

I had a scan for the all clear following MC on 17th Sept 09 and was told folicle on ovary so was about to ovulate, Still no AF and a BFN? EH?
Any ovulation experts out there who can help me, I was SO sure after the albeit v.faint BFP that it would be +ve now nt so sure but also have more symptoms of PG than due on........

OP posts:
Thisistheone · 08/10/2009 11:46

Hello Cakeandwine can't help at all except if you feel PG wait a few more days and do another test. I am also incredibly confused but steadfastly waiting until the weekend to test as that would be at least 2 weeks. All I can't think is that maybe some of the symptoms are an after shock of mc and body correcting itself. It's tricky as most people can tell by non arrival of AF of course with us we don't know when AF is due so don't know when it's overdue. Today don't feel PG but did a couple of days ago. Keep me posted though - it's nice to have someone else in the same boat.

CakeandFineWine · 08/10/2009 11:49

hello Thisistheone.
Yes def nice to have someone else in the same boat.
I've found I'm a total wreck the last few days the not knowing etc has made me realise how much I want this. I still want to be pg and will be so devastated if I'm nt!

OP posts:
Thisistheone · 08/10/2009 21:54

Same here. In fact today I thought I had the WOD, such an apt phrase - but tonight I feel all the squidgy tummy feelings again so tonight I'm sure I am PG. I can't quite cope with this yes I am no I'm not I don't think many people would put up with it. Roll on Saturday and put me out of my misery. When are you testing again? Did you have a conception date in mind?
Mind you I don't know about you but this isn't my 1st mc and being PG now is only the start of the worry.

EachPeachPearMum · 08/10/2009 22:00

Um- I had a m/c last year, ttc immediately... he's 8mo and sleeping soundly this evening

CakeandFineWine · 08/10/2009 22:28

Hey Thisistheone!
I have no idea about conception date due to all being up the spout and whatnot but def have no PMT type stuff!! Except crying alot but think thats more to do with my frankly desperation for a BFP!
I tested again today with a first repsonse and BFN
This is my first MC I was 13 weeks and had a scan all was OK so will be super nervous for 1st trimester!

Good luck 4u when r u testing?

Cakeand wine so sorry to hear about how late MC was - that is such a horrid thing to go through. No wonder you are desperate for a BFP. I have had 4 mc's so like you am v nervous about all of it, the farethest one was 11 1/2 wks and definatley the worst.
What other symptoms do you have at the mo?
I always pee in the night so it's not concentrated enough yet still holding out for Sunday when it should be a definate one way or the other.

Keep at it if theres no answer yet the cycle is v disrupted after a mc and you could ovulate twice in one cycle as they say 'it ain't over till the fat lady sings'.

Well doneEachpeach It can be done then and lucky you that he's a sound sleeper.

texasholdem · 09/10/2009 17:27

cakeandfinewine - sorry to hear about your MC and hope that you get a BFP soon

Last Aug (the 4th to be exact) I had a MC (was just over 5 weeks). As it was my 3rd MC, the hospital said they would book me in to have an ultrasound scan to see if there was anything wrong with me (already had all the blood tests plus me and DP both had chromosomes checked, they all came back fine). At end of Aug, I went to docs for a smear test, while doing having it done, the nurse told me I was ovulating - didn't really think much of it, had sex around that time but again didn't think anything of it.

At the beginning of Sept we went on holiday for a week, still no sign of period even though I was always every 4 weeks or less. The thought that I was pg did enter my mind but due to having had 3 MC's already, I just couldn't believe that I was pg, plus I just assumed that my period was a bit messed up due to MC the previous month. Also didn't have any other symptoms.

Mid-Sept went into hospital for ultrasound scan to see if there was anything wrong with me. After about 15mins of my very full bladder being pressed on, the woman doing the scan tells me 'texasholdem, it looks like your pregnant again' - cue total shocked face!!!! Told DP when I got out the room and he was just as shocked as I was. Spent the whole pregnancy worrying about every slight pain I felt.

Fast forward to now and I have a beautiful 5 month old DD .

I wish you all the luck in the world and didn't mean to ramble on there but I just wanted you to know that it is possible!

CakeandFineWine · 09/10/2009 21:00

Hi Texas ~What an ace story!! I can't believe you didn't know, I'm so desperate for my BFP think I'll probably test every single day ever til I am (That's a stock market tip, shares in clearblue are on the way up! )

Thisistheone: TBH my MC was SO much worse than I ever imagined I began bleeding on Sunday and thought well if this is it ain't so bad when I MC on the Wednesday ohmygod it was actually like labour but without the joy

Did another cheapo test this am even fainter line so think these tests might not be right as every other brand say BFN?!

OP posts:
CakeandFineWine · 09/10/2009 21:01

roundabout1 are you still lurking?
Hows everything going have you tole DP yet?

OP posts:
texasholdem · 09/10/2009 21:16

cakeandfinewine - thanks, I know it was such an amazing shock when she told me in the hospital!

So is that about 5 weeks then since your MC? Was your cycle quite regular before that? (Sorry if you have already said!) Thats a bit funny about the tests, did you say you had used Clearblue?

whomovedmychocolate · 09/10/2009 21:24

cakeandfinewine both my DCs were conceived within a month of a miscarriage. Tis a good sign. Go forth and be bulbous
