Did the "female sperm are slower but last longer, male sperm are faster but die off quickly" theory work for you?

Because I keep hearing that the best way to have a girl is to have sex a day or two before you ovulate so by the time the egg is available all the male sperm have died. And the best way to have a boy is to have sex on the day you ovulate.

So if you were charting or otherwise knew when you ovulated, and you had sex that day, have any of you had girl babies?

But a lot of people are presumably having sex reasonably regularly throughout their cycle, at least once or twice a week (at least before they have a baby!) so there will be equal numbers of boy and girl sperm swimming about up there. Probably. Would be interesting to know if subsequent children are more likely to be girls or boys! Personally, by the time I got pregnant I was so sick of not getting pregnant and of sex in general that in that month we only had sex once and that was it. But I presume that most couples aren't fed up to their back teeth of the whole business!
