Just wondered - a few of us on the Nov thread have an idea - but as to whether we're right or not is a different matter?!

All through my pregnancy I was convinced that I was having a boy until about 6 weeks before. I was walking down the street and suddnly I knew she was a girl and she was. The swinging needle also predicted it too.

blueteddy · 30/05/2005 09:21

Yes. I just knew that both of mine were boys, right from when I got the positive pg test & was correct both times.
I would have been shocked if one of them had turned out to be a girl!

beansmum · 30/05/2005 09:33

I knew from the minute I found out I was pg that the bean was a boy. It's lucky I was right or my poor wee girl would have been dressed entirely in blue for the first months of her life, I was so certain I was right I had only bought boys clothes, boys sleeping bags and painted bean's nursery blue.

my mum was the same though and she ended up having me.

I was absolutely convinced ds1 was a girl. I was so surprised when he appeared all I kept asking the midwife is was she sure it was a boy, even though the evidence was there. Ds2 I honestly never wondered about. Perhaps as he was only born just over a year later, so I was a bit braindead still.

Nemo1977 · 30/05/2005 10:12

we knew with ds he was a boy. With this pg have no idea as yet.

teeavee · 30/05/2005 10:32

yup, i was right in thinking mine would be a boy - it really was an instinct, unexplainable rationally..............my 6th sense!

Holly290505 · 31/05/2005 12:04

Thanks rodeo1 - still no sign Guess I should change my name!

PiccadillyCircus · 31/05/2005 12:11

I thought DS was going to be a girl.

Really not sure about this one - my feelings seem to change daily.

Jillyk · 31/05/2005 12:31

Everyone said I was going to have a boy from early on. Referred to him all the way through PG. Ds is now 11 months.

Rachey1969 · 31/05/2005 12:48

No absolutely not! I have 2 ds and 1 dd and 9 wks preg now and never had any idea - the pregnancies have all been the same and different - just as the babies were! Lets face it, you have a 50% chance of being right anyway!

I was convinced DS was a girl for the first few months, we called my mini bump 'Lily' but I had a sudden change of heart when I had this weird dream in which I heard a little baby voice going 'mummy call me Esteban' (honest it's true!) and then I changed my mind entirely and called my bump Theo from then on and still do even though he's not a bump anymore ...with this one I'm beginning to think that because I've got lots of boys names lined up it'll end up being a girl just to make me wade through the whole baby name book again! (Find out on Friday!!)

AnotherHelen · 31/05/2005 13:47

Has anyone tried that chinese needle test? all the woman in my family tried it and it was right! i tried it for fun when i was about 15 and it said i would have a boy, then another boy, and then a girl! well i had my first boy when i was 21, and then my second boy when i was 23 i am now 6 month pregnant with 3rd baby and dont know the sex yet so i cant wait to find out if this needle thingy was right all along! - also had my palms read when i was 18 and this lady said 2 boys and a girl too!

piffle · 31/05/2005 13:58

knew with both of mine ds and dd
Not sure how I knew though got it right both times although I did also find out through the scans too

Hazellnut · 31/05/2005 15:54

I, and everyone else, was convinced dd was a boy ! Even after 3 days of failed induction resulting in a cs at 1.30 am both dh and I were shocked (but pleased !) when she was dragged kicking and screaming into the world. We weren't even sure of a girl's name !!

Hazellnut · 31/05/2005 15:55

Mind you, it must run in the family as the same thing happened 6 month earlier to my brother - rumour has it my brother's first words when their dd popped into the world was 'but where's his willy' !! Very happy to have a little girl but quite surprised !

Tinker · 31/05/2005 15:56

Yes and no. One right, one wrong.

tessasmum · 01/06/2005 17:24

Both DP and I knew DD was a girl but not sure yet with this one.

beansprout · 01/06/2005 17:25

Absolutely. Knew from the start that ds was a boy.

SoupDragon · 01/06/2005 17:26

Nope. Thought 2 girls, got 2 boys
