Just wondered - a few of us on the Nov thread have an idea - but as to whether we're right or not is a different matter?!

In a word..............................................................................................................................................................................................................

NO

SenoraPostrophe · 29/05/2005 21:04

right once, wrong once (though i wasn't sure that time).

so 50:50

hunkermunker · 29/05/2005 21:05

Absolutely sure DS was a boy. When he was born, I looked at his face and thought "There he is" - then I checked for the crucial evidence

I have no clue this time though!

hunkermunker · 29/05/2005 21:06

PMSL at MRSflamesparrow Love your new chatname!

lunavix · 29/05/2005 21:08

exactly as meggymoo

Felt 100% it was a boy (even with MIL going on about how a girl would be lovely as she had two boys!)

At 6 months (hadn't found out sex, they wouldn't tell us at hospital) went to the Next sale and bought about £80 of cute baby boy bits!

Also got give about 4 binliners of clothes from bf's nannying family, and also dp's cousins - both families have 3 boys! Joke going round was this girl would wear a lot of blue....

But I swore blind the baby was a boy.. ds is now 13 months

ladymuck · 29/05/2005 21:18

I was convinced that I was carrying a boy first time round, and was totally thrown when I was told it was a girl at the 20 week scan - it really felt weird. Thankfully my next scan confirmed that it was a boy. Was also fairly sure with ds2.

rodeo1 · 29/05/2005 21:18

OK when 24 has finished I will tot all results up,
Thank you for your replies ladies!

I knew everytime with all three of mine!!!

Holly290505 · 29/05/2005 21:38

Yes! (Scan says I'm right and its a little girl - but she's due today and no sign so we may yet be wrong!) If so he'll be a boy who wears a lot of dresses....

charliecat · 29/05/2005 21:39

Totally wrong.
DD1 was such a such...as far as I was concerned it was a boy.
DD2 as id been so wrong the first time and the 2nd pregnancy was so different of course was going to be a boy...er now DD2 lol!

motherinferior · 29/05/2005 22:07

No idea either time. Come to that, I thought dd2 was a boy first time I saw her. I blame gas and air.

toria77 · 29/05/2005 22:08

yes knew was a boy

motherinferior · 29/05/2005 22:08

And anyway it stands to reason that half - or thereabouts - of the people who 'know' it's one sex are going to be right just by coincidence.

toria77 · 29/05/2005 22:14

true 50/50 chance

Rowlers · 29/05/2005 22:17

Had no idea at all.
I think I secretly wanted a girl but but didn't want to be disapppointed if I had a boy so just stopped myself from thinking about it.

Linnet · 29/05/2005 22:20

With dd1 I was convinced that she was going to be a boy but was wrong.

When I was pregnant with dd2 I was planning to ask at the scan if I was having a boy or a girl but a few days before the scan I had a dream where I was in the hospital with my mum, who died 8 years ago, she was mixing up powdered milk and it was pink. Dr confirmed that I was having another girl she was 1 year old last weekend.

hellomama · 29/05/2005 22:20

I was sooooo sure it was going to be a boy. I referred to my bump as 'he' from quite early on. All of our friends were sure we had found out the sex at the scan and weren't telling them (they should have known I can't keep a secret, so that couldn't be the case!) Sure enough, DS is now 9 months old. Even when DH told me at the birth 'its a boy', I thought, 'I know, you don't need to tell me'!

rodeo1 · 29/05/2005 22:29

Well just did the quick tot up -

23 pgs predicted correctly
16 pgs totally wrong!

so not straight down the middle, about 60/40, and I like to think there is such a thing as women's intuition, and meggymoo and lunavix even risked a load of baby clothes and paint on it!

Loads of luck and labour vibes to you Holly290505!!!

Make that 25/17!

OP posts:
rodeo1 · 29/05/2005 22:44

Right I'm bored and I've just remembered how to do percentages and it works out at

59.5% correctly predicted
40.5% wrongly predicted

So there we go, this proves women are brilliant and a bit psychic!

BadgerBadger · 30/05/2005 00:00

Both times I was immediately absolutely certain of what I was having. I didn't find out through the scan with DD1, but knew prior to the scan with DD2.

My pregnancy 'announcments' went something along the lines of "I'm one month PG....it's a girl!"

sparklymieow · 30/05/2005 00:16

I knew that DS was a boy, just had a feeling, I really wanted a girl with DD1 but convinced myself it was another boy so I wouldn't be disappointed if she was a boy IYKWIM. And I knew that Dd2 was a girl

MarsLady · 30/05/2005 00:18

I was right on all, incl the DTs, except one. DD2. I thought that she was a boy. She's the only one that DH got right.

eidsvold · 30/05/2005 00:28

spot on with dd1 - not right with dd2 - thought she was a ds as pregnancy was soo different

MommyD · 30/05/2005 08:11

Found out at 12 weeks that ds1 was a boy - had no inkling before that.
Thought ds2 was a boy (exact same feelings and no sickness at all) and the 20 week scan proved it.
With this last baby I am convinced it is a boy. I had a vivid dream that the sun was shining into my tummy and I could see him and his bits. Sure it's a boy. Three sons eh?
