...pissed off. Lots of early pregnancy symptoms, followed by 2 negative preg tests, but no bloody period either.

I am one of those women who always knows from day 1 when I'm pregnant - so far 100% accuracy on 2 pregnancies (one miscarriage and one gorgeous darling ).

So I trust my instincts about these things. However I am now a day overdue, which basically never happens to me. However I have been extremely stressed this week, so much so that I'm now feeling ill as well, so I wonder whether the stress could be holding back my period?

Either way I'm cheesed off.

...feeling better (despite nobody on MN showing even a wave offering of sympathy ).

I've just spoken to the lovely Mars, who always makes me laugh and has encouraged me no end.

7 TESTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your patience is extraordinary. Wow.

I used clearblue (on Sunday) and then today First Response. Mars suggested I should leave it a couple of weeks and then get the doctor to test me - for one thing, it's free!

Are the digital ones more accurate, then? I just assumed they were for people who can't understand the difference between one and two lines!

Darrell - indeed. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

MrsMerry - stress only delays ovulation, not your period starting, so if you were particularly stressed around the time you would have ovulated, then your period would be late.

MrsMerryHenry · 20/05/2009 20:42

Well in that case it can't be stress as I wasn't stressed during ovulation. Thanks, LessThen!

Fingers and toes crossed!

wow, this is exciting.
i've had a negative test on the day my period was due that turned out to be a big fat positive a few days later.

MrsMerryHenry · 20/05/2009 20:50

You are making me feel SO much better!

I happened to see the nurse at my surgery today for something else, but didn't mention my possible pregnancy as she's a bit of a stern matriarch and just knew she would have no respect for my intuition vs the scientific assurance of wee on a stick.

I will keep you posted...

I had very obvious positives with my girls.

with the boys however.......took until I was 2wks late to get a BFP, and that was with lots of symptoms!!

MrsMerryHenry · 20/05/2009 21:04

I had two very obvious positives - one boy, one unknown. And then this one.

OP posts:
psychomum5 · 20/05/2009 21:19

ahh, so it might just be the opposite flavour then!

MrsMerryHenry · 20/05/2009 21:21

Ooooh! Would be lovely. I wanted a girl the first time round, then when he was born (we didn't find out the sex in advance) I was utterly overwhelmed with excitement. So either way I'll still be happy but I do want a human dolly and I think this is going to be my last shot at it...

OP posts:
psychomum5 · 20/05/2009 21:28

lol @ human dolly

girls are very cute, until hormones hit, so be warned.

MrsMerryHenry · 20/05/2009 21:37

Oh good God, I'd forgotten about that!

There, there

psychomum5 · 20/05/2009 21:40

hormones are hell, I feel more for DH tho as I am mixed up with the hell, and not rational either

How you doing today, MrsMH? Any news?

MrsMerryHenry · 21/05/2009 14:10

Aww, thanks for asking, LessThen! Still no period . Also I tried to deny it, but I have been more weepy than usual recently. I'm about to watch Born To Be Different on C4 - must find a box of tissues first!

How's you today?

OP posts:
LessThenIdeal · 21/05/2009 14:13

Ah, i'm good ta. Slowly getting used to the idea that i'm pregnant again. When are you going to test again? Not that i'm demanding you go out and purchase a clearblue digital forthwith, or owt!

MrsMerryHenry · 21/05/2009 14:20

Congrats!!! I must've missed something in your posts, as I didn't realise you were preg, too, that's brilliant - I hope. Sounds like it might not have been totally planned, or am I reading too much into your words? How far gone are you?

I'm going to leave it until the end of the month - possibly. At the moment I have really painful tonsils and might have to go back to the GP tomorrow. I clearly can't take codeine as usual with tonsillitis, and if my throat gets worse over the weekend with no GP available, it'll be a killer.

So ideal scenario: I successfully treat tonsils with copious amounts of bug-busting manuka honey and my throat magically heals overnight. Then I do pg test at GP in two weeks.

Most likely scenario: I wake up tomorrow in agonising pain and see GP plus get preg test.

Will keep you posted.

So, do you have shares in clearblue digital, or what?

OP posts:
LessThenIdeal · 21/05/2009 14:42

Aye, something like that. I'm just six weeks gone, and it was a huge shock - i'm on the pill and we were using condoms - though one did split but i thought it'd be ok as was on pill...

Hope the tonsils get better soon x

MrsMerryHenry · 21/05/2009 14:54

Flippin' 'eck you guys are fertile!!

We were also using a condom but without being too graphic there was a five day gap before conception could have occured. And yet...it seems it probably did occur. Didn't even do a handstand afterwards, like I did to conceive DS1!

At the risk of sounded tacky, I think some sperm shown extraordinary determination! Think of what they could do for world peace!

Sorry, crap grammar (can't believe I'm re-posting this sentence).

'Sperm' is such a grim word, isn't it?
