JJ i saw this interview with Minnie Driver who was asked how she had lost weight. She gave the interviewer a "look" and said she did the "eat less, do more diet" so easy peasy just like your dad says

jeanjeannie · 05/01/2009 20:52

Who'd have thought - Minnie Driver and my Dad...kindred spirits!

ermintrude13 · 05/01/2009 20:56

Has your dad got an extremely wide face jj or is he just like Minnie D in his attitude?

johnworf · 05/01/2009 20:59

hahahaha. What a comparison JJ. I agree about the losing weight. It isn't rocket science is it?

So you have considered Montessori too ??

Can believe about the booking a place for LO when you're still pregnant. Think it is commonplace for good schools.

Been a good debate today ladies. What shall we aim for tomorrow? Convert everyone to Tory? mwahahahahaha (evil laugh).

hedgepig not sure I'm brave enough to post on here my starting weight. In lbs it's about the size of the national debt of a small country.

mrsboogie · 05/01/2009 21:05

So, tomorrow is weigh in day. Gulp. Hope the scales are not too shocking.

Coronation street was fab tonight. So funny. Anyone see it?

mrsboogie · 05/01/2009 21:09

we are only doing the lbs bit jw

so I would be for eg xx stone 3lbs
and next week I might be xx stone and 1lbs

does that make sense?

hedgepig · 05/01/2009 21:13

well done MrsB,
that what I meant JW like MrsB suggested not the whole thing in lbs (to be honest I probably couldn't do the sums I can only do decimals stones and stuff do my head in).

I'm hungry and want a biscuit I am such a sugar addict.

jeanjeannie · 05/01/2009 21:16

ermintrude Minnie Driver and my Dad.....separated at birth Face wider than the Humber bridge....and that hair too !!

mrsB Corrie was sublime tonight. Oh I was howling at Liz hiding behind that chair. Steve is such a good comic actor. I see Andrew Sachs is joining the cast....whatever next....Russell Brand as the new barman!

jw I had indeed considered Montessori - but only for nursery/pre-school simply because it doesn't put too much emphasis on academics and I reckon there's plenty of time for that later. However with this new child-led focus they now all have to have then it doesn't really matter - they'll all end up being the same!

Yes - tomorrow could be Tory Vs lilly-livered liberals.....discuss....all while singing "who ate all the pies?"

mrsboogie · 05/01/2009 21:29

I love Steve - he gets the best lines and is v good, you can sort of imagine him being quite like the character. When he said "I was born between those legs" arf. Also drinking out of the wine bottle.

Switched over to EE while waiting for the second Corrie and you got screeching, misery, child abuse and attempted patricide.

rosebury · 05/01/2009 21:54

Evening ladies very pleased to see that you are all still around, I have missed you all but simply been very busy with new babe bf etc. it has taken me ages to track you down through all the new threads you really do chat a lot.

I agree that the street was great tonight it does feel good to laugh and it is good for the tummy muscles if I could find them.

Oh and by the way is anyone planning another baby yet or maybe even pg already just thought that I would ask.

hope to visit again soon.

johnworf · 06/01/2009 08:02

Rosbury are you having a larf??????? Another baby??? not a chance

Glad you are still with us dear and nice to see your back on the thread. How is your LO doing?

Was half watching CS but was feeding the gaping hole that is K's mouth.

So we're posting what we've lost in pounds or are we just posting the pounds bit and not the stones bit?

Anyone seen the pics from y'day of Fern Britton? She really puts me to shame (ok she's got a gastric band) in that she's lost over xmas . She looks very good on it though apart from her huge bust which makes her look out of proportion.

johnworf · 06/01/2009 08:13

New pic today

lilibet · 06/01/2009 08:44

Hello!!!!!

Happy New year!!

I hope everyone is ok and has had a wonderful time.

I can't beleive you are nearly a quarter through a new thread

Would anyone like to give me a precis of what has happened while I have not been here?

Having a quick look through I can see that it's not just me that needs to give up the cake . I ahve put on 6LB over Christmas and really need to shift the lard that has gathered on my body.

So - I am xx 10.5 lb .

johnworf · 06/01/2009 08:48

lilibet join our online fat busters club Lovely to see you back on the thread dear and it was only the other day that we were wondering where you'd got to.

The usual stuff on here; cake (although lack of it), DM, losing weight, Thorntons (pre xmas), scans, poo, and yesterday a treat of religious schools v non religious (hot debate!)

So feel free to jump in on whichever takes your fancy. We thought we may do politics today just to calm things down from y'day

Tee2072 · 06/01/2009 09:25

JW She is so lovely!

Hi lilibet so nice to see you! Usual stuff around here, as listed by JW.

So, we've had hallowe'en smileys, and holiday smileys...do we get Valentine's Day smileys?

My 40th Birthday is 1 month from yesterday and DH and I have agreed to splash out and go here for it. Will cost us a fortune, but how often do I turn 40! At least we'll save on wine!

ermintrude13 · 06/01/2009 09:31

Hello agaon lilibet, good to hear from you.

JW, it looks like Katherine is enjoying the sensory overload in that first pic! And your DSS is a such a handsome boy; they make a very cute pair.

Not sure if I can cope with politics today - no sleep due to vomit, indigestion and constipation. It's all kicked in a bit early this pregnancy . Shall we do Art? Poetry? Comedy? I note you're another Frankie Boyle fan, Johnworf - ooh, I do love that naughty, naughty man. He has the smile of a psychopathic choirboy . For my bd, my sis bought DH and I tkts to see the lovely Ed Byrne live in April, can't wait! I think in any game of Who Would You Rather? comedians would win over even quite gorgeous filmstars because a quick wit is such a sexy thing.

Hmm, maybe my libido is perking up, I might even shave my legs tonight..

jeanjeannie · 06/01/2009 09:35

Morning all.....and yes, another full night's sleep Yee haa!

Rosebury cough, splutter....another no way - I'm embracing the menopause with open arms....that'll put a stop to me breeding! Good to see you popping in - Happy New Year old chap!

lilibet THERE you are!!! Happy New Year to you too! jw has pretty much summed up the topics of conversation while you were away...and yes, the only cake is cyber cake. Let's hope Thorntons doesn't go bust - we'll never be able to resist the closing down sale......

tee that place looks lovely make that a double for being sooooo young!!!

Well, it's freezing here. Am hoping the road is gritted or we may never escape. Yes, it's Jo Jingles day......the creepy clown with the over-excited lady in leggings. Oh I may have to take a flask of vodka to get me through it!!!

jw OMG she looks fab!! Really confusing because there looks nothing 'prem' there at all. I can see why she's hitting her milestones. TBH she looks like the same age as Verity.

johnworf · 06/01/2009 09:36

Oh you are sooooo right there ermintrude I never really went for looks in the man dept. It was always intellectuals but any man could laugh me into bed. It really is the most attractive quality in a man to me Oh Frankie...come to me hunny!

Just managed to source a Wii fit from ASDA and we have vouchers for there too. Double bonus. Crikey all this exercise. My Davina dvd should come today. I'll be knackered just opening the cellophane

Aye ermintrude K likes her accessories already. She's funny with all those toys. She swipes all the rest out of the way and gets the two she likes; the manhattan scary thingy and Mr Whoozit. The rest are just there for show

ermintrude13 · 06/01/2009 09:41

I wouldn't like to be laughed out of bed though...

lilibet · 06/01/2009 11:20

I have jsut been sent this e mail - try out your addled brains ladies!!

"A quiz for you. These are the last 3 questions we can't get on Pats quiz from church. Cryptic questions all relating to famous people, living, dead or fictitious. The numbers are the number of letters in each name

Not someone you might recommend to run a creche 4/5

You wouldn't find this "Army Captain" in the mess 7/5

Certainly not an arachnaphobe 6/5

We all think this last one is Peter Parker and they've got the number of letters the wrong way round."

Dh and I both bought the other the "Mock the Week, Too Hot ofr TV" DVD for Christmas, would any one like one? I can post one out to someone. Frankie is very rude!!

I need brains in a man, I could never have a long term relationship with someone who was less intellegent than me.

Now a one night stand is a different matter..............

I'm very glad I missed the religious schools debate

mrsboogie · 06/01/2009 11:33

oh dear Lord. Oh my god. Have just done the deed. Am same weight as when 9 months pg. A stone heavier than after I gave birth, a stone heavier than I thought I was

To start the ball rolling I am xx stone 6lbs.

Even if I lost a stone before going back to work I would still be heavier than I have ever been.

Right. That's the self pity over with. Time for some physical jerks!!!

hedgepig · 06/01/2009 11:37

morning all. I have a baby who is refusing to sleep this morning, which is quite nice because B went back to school today so the house is very quite, but I sure he needs a nap.

lilibet sorry no ideas on the quiz questions, I am truly hopeless at things like this.

We got the frankie stand up DVD for crimbo, he is very rude to the point of boing unfunny I felt (cripes I sound like my mother)

lilibet · 06/01/2009 11:40

I am 5 stone heavier than when I first got married!!!

And 2 stone heavier than when I did it for the second time.

My mii on wii fit is a little fat blob with a belly hanging out

hedgepig · 06/01/2009 11:49

Mrs B well done in stepping on the scales. I have done the deed too, not so bad actually I am the weight I was before I got pg but the xx does equal a large number that puts me 4 st over weight so nothing to be smug about.

shall we do a list?

The fabulous 40's fat reducers scores are:

MrsB - xx stone 6 lbs
Hedgepig - xx stone 1 lbs.

actually Lilibet how about Sergent Bilko for the army question?

Ollie is finally asleep draped over my shoulder, I know if he goes horizontal he will wake up, my arm aches already.

mrsboogie · 06/01/2009 11:53

hedgepig I thought the same about the Frankie dvd - really like him on Mock the Week etc so expected to love him but didn't as much as I thought I would. He replaces rudeness with comedy at times. When he was really really rude to that couple in the audience "does he even touch the sides?" I really didnt find that funny at all.

Michael Mcintyre on the other hand was brilliant.

Me and OH got about 5 or 6 of these dvds for Christmas viewing and found to our surprise that the more they swore the less funny they were.
