Before baby - RELAX! You won't have time after he/she arrives

Agree you should get as much rest as possible, plus pedicure, facial, haircut. Use nervous energy on cooking healthy meals you can freeze and eat later once the baby's arrived. Agree doing a bit of research into the local world of things to do with baby could be good, but tbh i'd let that happen organically once the baby comes.

Get a pedicure. My mw did comment on my lovely feet , which presumably she saw a lot of during the 14 hour labour!

I would have loved weeks off doing nothing much (though I didn't realise it until I had dd)!

I had to ring work and tell my colleague, "Kevin, I think that you'll be holding the on-call bleep on your own until my mat leave locum starts in 6 weeks as I'm going to have her today."

Hi Tostaky, I'm due 12 Nov, recognise you from antenatal thread!. So far I have done lots of cleaning and cooking, defrosted freezer and started batch cooking as if preparing for rationing, got bikini wax, getting haircut next week, laundy bloody laundry, packed birth bag, etc etc. I have SPD so am v of anyone who can go to art galleries etc.

I have also begun to talk back to the radio while doing other things and to spend FAR too much time on Mumsnet.

I am fussy about food so I did a big online shop before the birth and saved it as a list, so that when DD was born my husband just had to pay for it and organise delivery. Also, I wrote out some meal plans so he'd what to do with the food - all very easy to prepare stuff - so we wouldn't end up with lots of odd meals and funny things left over going mouldy in the fridge. I was so grateful to have delicious food every day after I got home. Also, I had a haircut, manicure and pedicure - you will be in lots of photos after the birth! didn't manage to concentrate on reading but did sleep a lot.

If you are planning on putting the baby into childcare/nursery when you go back to work, go and visit the nurseries now. There may be waiting lists. It will be much easier and you can be much more objective BEFORE PFB arrives!

Make the most of being spontaneous - doing what you want when you want!
Have a lie in cos you won't get one again for a long, long time!
Go out at night as it will be a long time till you do that again without having to organise it with military precision weeks in advance!
Enjoy peace and quiet and a tidy house
Have beauty treatments, it made the beautician panic when I told her I was a week overdue when she was painting my toenails!
